“Great views of 59th Street Bridge & East River!”
“Although the hotel seems to attract mostly visitors from outside the tri-state area, the penthouse bar gives local visitors a spacious hangout to view the city from almost all angles while having enough elbow room to relax and throw back a few cold brews.”
“live across the street and can't resist popping in on a weekly basis to indulge in their awesome appetizers, including some of the best hot wings in the city.”
“It's a great place to grab drinks on a warm night rather than fighting the crowds at other outdoor bars.”
“The bar staff are friendly and engaging and set the mood with background beats from the Dead and Santana and current R&B.”
“It's worth a visit whether you live in the neighborhood or are just looking for a new place to entertain friends and enjoy the bridge and city views.”
rude bartender.
We were visiting from out of town and called the hotel lobby to see what time the rooftop bar kitchen closed. Our son was hungry and we were looking for a place to eat past 10pm. The receptionist told us dinner was available until 10:30pm so we took a cab across town and arrived right at 10pm. The bartender greeted us with a "the kitchen closed 2 minutes ago", despite the fact that we had just called and been told differently.
He continued to be extremely rude and argue with us, even after agreeing to serve us a little food. I've never experienced such disrespect in my life. We finally left and ate at home.
DO not patranize this place.
It's got promise.
In an interesting location for sure- it was pretty loud to have a room facing the entrance to FDR. There was plenty of horn honking happening at 1 a.m.
The room was nicely decorated and the front desk staff was very friendly. The water pressure was terrible and left shampoo in my hair and hands-down it was the most rude service I received from the room service staff. The food was good, but the staff has deterred me from going to the rooftop. I might consider staying again, but things would need to change.
Rooftop oasis. The bar at the top of the Bentley Hotel at 62nd and York is a welcome addition to the Sutton Place neighborhood. Although the hotel seems to attract mostly visitors from outside the tri-state area, the penthouse bar gives local visitors a spacious hangout to view the city from almost all angles while having enough elbow room to relax and throw back a few cold brews. The bar staff are friendly and engaging and set the mood with background beats from the Dead and Santana and current R&B. I live across the street and can't resist popping in on a weekly basis to indulge in their awesome appetizers, including some of the best hot wings in the city. It's worth a visit whether you live in the neighborhood or are just looking for a new place to entertain friends and enjoy the bridge and city views...
Hidden Rooftop Gem. Great views of 59th Street Bridge & East River! Cool outdoor space on three sides of the building. Good appetizers & bar food. It's a great place to grab drinks on a warm night rather than fighting the crowds at other outdoor bars...
