Health-conscious gourmet food delivered in an insulated bag by 5am daily includes three meals and two snacks in microwaveable containers.

food quality
75.0% positive
  1. I've been on this for 2 weeks, lost 9 lbs and the food is good.
  2. The quantities are more than adequate, and the food is very fresh.
  3. am not a picky eater, but the quality of the food I received was terrible -- rusty lettuce, sketchy meat.
  4. At least one meal a day is really, really good and that is enough to keep going without wanting to cheat.
service
50.0% positive
  1. Beyond the fact that they are absolutely unable to adhere to the dietary restrictions that their own nutritionist recommends, their customer service is unbelievably horrible.

Love it so far!

by paulinanyc

This is our second round with Chef's Diet and out of all of the diet meal plans I have experienced, this is the best hands down. Food is fresh daily, not frozen, meals are very tasty, customer service has been very cooperative with any requests or issues.

Diet is very easy to stick to, cravings are minimum because (in my opinion) of moderate salt, sugar and carbs.

Extremely convenient. I just wish I would lose quicker. So far it's been 3lbs in 2 weeks but I only had 10 to lose, so maybe that's why it comes off slower.

Food's so good that I really don't miss a thing. I take one day off a week and literally have very little desire to cheat on my cheating day.

In my opinion, this is the PERFECT way to diet. Food comes when you are sleeping, you wake up in the morning, open the front door and there is your food for the day! Love it

Thumbs up

Not worth the trouble

by socialhseme7

Signed up to receive meal package via Living Social. I've learned long ago, if there are problems from the beginning... let it go. Called to arrange delivery and was told I needed to send in a door key to my apartment building for driver. Was NOT informed when signing up we had to jump through hoops because meals are only delivered 9PM to 5AM. We have an intercom and I offered to be available those hours to accept delivery but was told they could not accommodate me. One would think if you're trying to build your clientele via such promotions as Living Social, they would work with you until you are hooked and ready to send them a $75 door access key that it seems they have a history of losing.

Wish I had read the reviews first. At this point, I am not salivating over any of their meal plans and I am too happy to PASS.

Stay away

by bscully27

From a groupon deal, I purchased a 7-day meal plan...

After buying the promo I had to call and arrange when Chef's Diet would deliver food. Well every time I called, the customer service line was busy and would immediately hang up. Literally after a week of trying I finally got through.

When the food came, it was not very good and incredibly small. I would often times have to merge the lunch snack and dinner plates into my dinner meal.

Furthermore, the past two days I couldn't even eat the breakfast it was that bad..

I really like the delivered-meals idea but this place does a terrible job. Stay away.

Horrible, dont WASTE your money

by SWilson

Horrible Food, Terrible Customer Service.

I wouldn't reccomend this service to anyone.

There food was always bland or overcooked and when I tried to make changes I was treated badly by the customer service reps.

Bad service overall dont waste your money.

  • Pros: They are none.

Diet Heaven

by mel1960

I've been on this for 2 weeks, lost 9 lbs and the food is good. The delivery is dependable, and the customer service seems OK. Not making any food choices is fabulous! Every day this service brings 3 meals and 2 snacks and I don't have to think, shop, cook or go to a restaurant to get them. This is truly the way to diet, someone else does all the work. I have only one job - eat only what I'm brought. Once in a while something I get is really not good, most of the time it is quite good, and sometimes it is sublime. At least one meal a day is really, really good and that is enough to keep going without wanting to cheat. The menu is a bit less varied than the sample on their site. The quantities are more than adequate, and the food is very fresh.

  • Pros: Better than adequate food, no-brainer way to diet
  • Cons: variety could be better, lot of plastic to recycle
