Great thai food, lots of vegan options too!. My friend and I came here for dinner on a Saturday night and were pleasantly surprised that the place was not as packed as the restaurants next door. The front of the restaurant was open which was so nice because the weather is so great now. Our server was sweet and the food was very good. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options too. Though some people seem to think TOC is BYO it is not and they charge a very high corkage fee ($20). Good thing we didn't bring any w/ us. The drinks are fairly priced so its really not a big deal.

look out for the friends in the pad thai!!. I used to love TOC. I would order it once a week. They have exceptionally fast delivery service and the food is good. Maybe they should take more time to ensure that they leave the creatures out of the pad thai!

Not worth your time/money. Put simply, the food is not good. Don't waste your time or money. There are far better Thai places in the area.

At last great Thai in LES. The food is really good. The wok dishes are amazing and the appetizers are super tasty. Delicious! The atmosphere is a white room and they always have the work of different artists on the walls. Gives a nice warm touch. Have never had to wait to be seated and the wait staff is friendly without being overbearing. It's a great dinner at a reasonable price.

Why is this place getting so much buzz?. The food is very average. Not bad, but definitely not special enough to get this rating. I would say my neighborhood Thai is cheaper and better than TOC. Friendly service, reasonable price, but not authentic food. Esp in LES, you can get better food down the block.

Good service, average food. The staff were friendly and attentive, but I didn't think the food was exceptional, and all the dishes we ordered tasted a little too sweet even for Thai dishes.

In a cleanly designed room, Thai food that is subtler than most.. The Scene
All rounded corners and translucent surfaces, this space has a clean, unshowy ambience. White walls and seats contribute to the feeling. Service is polite and efficient, and the clientele casual and local.

The Food
This is not the two-dimensional, giant-flavored Thai food that's so common. Instead, the seasonings are delicately, artfully layered, so that subsequent mouthfuls reveal new nuances. Beef satay has sweet hints of cardamom and other spices lurking, and is served over a subtle fried rice laden with pineapple, cashews and vegetables. Tom kha gai soup balances coconut richness, earthy galangal and tart lemongrass in excellent proportion; pad thai achieves a crisp-and-chewy texture with no gumminess or excess sugar. Even a simple onion-and-basil saute is richly, complexly flavored. Bringing one's own beer, such as a full-bodied ale to complement the spice, is highly recommended.

sub-par food. cute-place, but food is the most mediocre take on Thai food I've had in New York. Maybe it was a bad night, but no way am I going back.

too pricey. The bland flavors at prices $1-3 higher than other more tasty thai eateries nearby (in the east village, I don't think there are other thai places in the LES) make the experience at TOC an expensive disappointment. The pad thai, which I consider the mark of a decent thai joint, is lacking in multidimentionaly which is revealing for a dish with so many ingredients. The one thing going for it is the fast delivery.

Amazing. Returning to visit New York for the weekend all the way from Maryland, my NY resident friends took my husband and I to TOC, as they insisted it had the best spring rolls in the entire city. Not only were the spring rolls the best, I practically licked the plate of my Tamarind Duck, the special of the evening. The service was kind, efficient, and unobtrusive - the atmosphere friendly and casual. The presentation of the food would make one think that the prices are double what they actually are. All in all, and amazing meal and evening.
