The Scene Wood paneling, decorative mirrors and burgundy leather bar stools set the scene for sophistication. Jazz music plays quietly under the tinkle of silver serving trays and the murmur of the older, upscale crowd. The sides of the square-shaped mahogany bar curve invitingly toward a central pedestal topped with black statues of the famous financial prognosticators after which this institution in The Waldorf Astoria is named. A green stock-market ticker moves along the back wall while financial types toast over tables the color of money. The Draw "Big martinis and great steaks," the bow…

Best beef on the East Coast, don't eat steak anywhere else
by AgentBauer
My friend and I stayed at the W.A. a few weeks ago and were looking for a good steakhouse. Hands down the best steak of my life. We both had the filet mignon, 12 oz. I had a shrimp cocktail as an appetizer, that was very good too. Neither of us were offered wine or spirits, but I figured it's because we both recently turned 21 and still look young. We're not big wine drinkers anyway so it wasn't a big deal.
I really have to stress how good the filet was. I honestly don't think I could find something like it anywhere else. After eating there I was looking at the website a few days later, and I read that their beef is the only beef on the East Coast that is dry-aged 28 days, or something to that effect. Maybe that's why it was so amazing. Go there. Expect 75-100 per person if you order sides, more if alcohol is involved.
As some people here have already stated, the staff weren't anything special. That said, I plan to go back there again and again regardless because of how good the food was.
- Pros: Best steak I've ever had
- Cons: Mediocre service
Fine Food. Very Consistent
by network
Have had several dinners and lunches here. The service is attentive, couteous and prompt without being overbearing.
The steaks are excellent. Lunch salads and sandwichws are also consistantly good, thougha bit pricey-even for mid town Manhattan.
Check out the bar after wall street closes! More business going on over scotch than in Glasgow!
- Pros: service and the bar
- Cons: pricey lunch
Best meal of my life
by ajf2213
I can honestly say that this was the best meal I have ever eaten in my entire life. I went with my boyfriend for a romantic birthday dinner on a Saturday evening, and now we make a point of having dinner here an annual tradition. The portions were big and filling, the food is phenomenal. Lobster, steak, shrip, scallops -- perfect. The desert -- creme brule -- to die for. I'm very surprised about the posts below complaining about the service -- our servers were fabulous. They were attentive, fast, thoughtful and made excellent & honest recommendations on the menu. We left the restaurant that evening raving about the fabulous food and service.
- Pros: food, service, portions
- Cons: price
Fantastic place to go for a romantic dinner out.

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining here last Sunday evening. Our concierge recommended it to us since we are big fans of steak. We were not dissapointed! The steak was very tasty. If you like medium steak, I would suggest ordering it medium well. I ordered my steak medium and it was served med rare. (As was my husbands) The portions were impressive as were the side dishes. The asparagus was wonderful! We did not drink any wine, but would love to when we return.
- Pros: Good steak, great sides, nice atmosphere.
Solid Steak, Older Crowd, good place to go when you don't have a reservation on a saturday night
