On the 35th floor of the Mandarin Oriental hotel, adjacent to the lofty Lobby Bar, this tucked-away room offers a spicier alternative for dates and small get-togethers. Waitresses in Chinese silk tops serve drinks to the well-off 30- and 40-something customers, who relax in brown leather chairs or against tall, carved stone-back seats. Cinnabar-painted walls, gauzy gold curtains and bulbs with electric-orange filaments give the ambience a sexy spark. In addition to 20 wines by the glass, the bar serves a variety of extravagantly priced cocktails, some of which are blended with house-infused…
Classy Spot With One Hell of a View!

Right in the heart of Columbus Circle is a fantastic bar in the hotel of the Marderin Hotel on the 35th Floor of the Time Warner Building. Killing time before a show at Lincoln Center we walked to Colum. Circ. and upto the bar for a cocktail and it is super nice. The drinks are pricey, but you're paying for the ambience which it is amazing! Very Classy...very New York. We really enjoyed ourselves. I highly recommend it. If you have time for more than a drink, have dinner at Asiate on the same floor. And if you really have extra time check out the world class spa...also on the same floor. It's worth a trip just to see it.
- Pros: Unbelievable Atmoshphere
- Cons: Pricey...again...worth it
try to get a seat in the lounge area....

Been coming to this bar since it opened in '04, and love it. Yes, the drinks are exorbitantly priced at $18 per glass (the sake is very expensive particularly since the glass is so small), but I love the atmosphere, the decor and the ambiance. Try to get a seat in the lounge area (ask the hostess to put your name down-- if you're not a hotel guest, you will get a lower priority). The bar itself is a little uncomfortable and the patrons a little self involved, but if you can get the lounge area, and avoid the bar area, you will capture a little paradise in NYC. I used to have a favorite cocktail waitress, Olga... I wonder if she still works here. In any case, the food is decent, but, again, pricey. if you know what to expect (a potential wait, arrogant patrons, pricey drinks), then you can enjoy your experience...
- Pros: lounge area, ambience, good drinks
- Cons: pricey, long waits
Fabulous Drinks and beautiful spot!

Enjoyed an amazing evening at MObar Saturday night. The place is chic and sophisticated and the drinks are delicious. I found all of them to be very inventive - I've visited other times and they have new fun cocktails every season. The food was also yummy - We sampled quite a few items and loved everything. I would highly recommend MObar to anyone!
- Pros: Ambience, Food and Drink
