Editorial Review for BLVD – by Janet Tzou
The Scene
Simple, modern decor pervades this vast 18,000-square-foot nightlife multiplex. The sheer luxury of the space is made more apparent by its lack of frou-frou ambience. A blue-lit, spaceship-like ceiling fixture and a dramatic 45-foot glazed-oak bar separates the front lounge from the back rooms, which include an iron-doored VIP area, a DJ-manned dance floor rotating Top 40 tunes and a puffy, suede-canopied restaurant.
The Draw
A more relaxed, friendlier vibe separates BLVD from similar mega-club establishments, but there's still a strong singles scene. Picture guys in button-down striped shirts and cleavage-sporting gals in tight-fitting tops jostling to order Bailey's shots. However, patrons may have a hard time spotting--let alone pursuing--their future significant other given the thick weekend crowds. The restaurant offers an escape from the fray. The Panamanian-influenced menu includes ceviche, oysters and empanadas as appetizers and entrees such as grilled sugarcane shrimp and pork tenderloin.

Insider Tips
Look GoodWhile there's no official dress code at BLVD, sneakers are frowned upon; if you want to make it through the line with all members of your party intact, you'd better look sharp.
The ExtrasAfter 12am, BLVD patrons are free to wander into the downstairs live music lounge, Crash Mansion.

I'm a native New Yorker who went to college in NYC as well, so I've pretty much spent my 20s hitting up many nightclubs. This past Saturday, I went there for a birthday celebration, and I must say I had a great time. I'm so over pretentious nightclubs that really aren't reflective of what NYC is all about...this place has something for everyone. The drinks were great and not too overpriced, VIP was area was down to earth, there were plenty of beautiful people, the DJ was on point and the staff was decent. I danced from the moment I got there till it was time for me to get going to the next spot (but I secretly didn't wanna leave). I will definetely be going back to BLVD-it's perfect for hosting a party or for having a much needed girls night out:)
Pros: Very Diverse
Cons: if you're a guy, you need to bring girls but I guess that's the standard @ all clubs

well this weekend (Saturday night) was my first time at blvd, and i certainly know i will be coming back, i had so much fun. the music was great and there were a few eye candy in the club. it was a long line on Saturday and we waited a while so if i go again, which am sure i will then i will get there early. nothing worst than waiting in a line that has no end. lol music was fantastic and a very good mixture of genres. the line for the toilet was long for most of the night. they have nice drink specials too. i am sure i will be there next week
