“Although the facial and massage I had was great, the front desk service was horrible and very rude.”

Don't give them your credit/debit card!.
DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD!
I bought my brother a giftcard in December and, not only did the spa refuse to accept it once he got there, but they then put a completely unauthorized charge on my card for $270. That's twice the original amount--which they also charged--making it three times the amount in total. [P.S. Did I mention I'm in Borneo and that the card was flagged with fraud since I can't be in New York and Borneo at the same time?]
I called multiple times to clear it up--no answer. I emailed twice--no reply. I posted a review on their site with a request for them to email---nothing.
My brother and I called repeatedly for over two days, he finally managed to get through and--after a struggle--they promised to refund my card.
Save yourself the trouble--if you go, pay in cash!
Awesome Massage. Fabulous massage!! Love the ambience. The massage therapist was really great. Perfect amount of pressure. Great technique. Didn't talk when I didn't want to. I loved it, and fell asleep halfway through. I was so relaxed afterward. I love the warm bean pillow too.....I will come back here again and again!!
Not as great as I expected. My friend bought me a gift of facial and massage. I was so excited to have an excuse to branch out and try something new. I have been going to bliss and mario badescu for the longest time and love their treatments, but always wanted to try something new. How unfortunate. Everyone raves about the classes and I desperately hoped spa would meet those standards. Nope. My massage technician was very pleasant and professional, but the massage didn't flow smoothly and I asked for lower back focused on and got upper. But overall she was ok and I did feel a bit relaxed. My facial was horrible. The woman was very pushy for me to purchase treatments and products, each contradicting her previous suggestion. I know my skin and get facials almost every 4 months. It was promising when she started extracting, but she only covered smallest area of the face leaving a ton of blackheads. Gosh. And the worst part, the next day my skin broke out in a rash. I am not making this up, tiny red bumps all over my face, my skin was very itchy. I was very upset. I would never go back.
Tried Manicure-Pedicure. I take Yin Yoga classes at Exhale both Central Park South and Madison Street locations. I tried the mani-pedi at the central park south location in April 2010. I was quiet disappointed at the products used at Exhale. The technician was fine but having tried mani-pedi at different locations in NYC, the experience was average. I wouldnt try any spa service at this location. It was too cramped and there was no you could relax.
still in shock.... I went to exhale for a relaxing and productive facial...Unfortunately the relaxing part didn't come until it was over and I had cup of tea in the lounge and used a warming neck pillow...Juliet was very sweet and knowledgeable, but her technique was rough and jerky to say the least. I appreciated her strength during the massage part of the facial, but there was no fludity throughout the whole experience and it seemed like whenever she stopped doing something she was futzing around making lots of noise & banging into things. On one hand during the extraction part of the facial I was thinking, this is great she is really getting in there and cleaning out all of my pores..and then I started freaking out because of the force she was using...I was actually concerned that she'd break my nose or my cheek! I've had plenty of facials with extractions before, but I've never been fearful that I'd leave with permanent damage! I literally was too petrified to say something during the extractions...I just wanted it to be over! I might consider going back to exhale for a facial with a different aesthetician because I did enjoy the robes, the tea, the neck pillows...but it was a little loud in the lounge and in the facial room itself...It hasn't been long enough since the facial for me to report on any difference in my skin...I am just hoping the pain & fear was worth it!
buyer beware. i had been a spa member for 5 months. i attended classes 4 - 5 times a week. the showers do not always work. no soap, floors full of scum, scales broken, etc. when i complain the spa manager renee told me i should consider another spa. talk about the lack of professionalism. one time the locker room attendant took my towel from me while i was still getting dressed. i asked him to wait till i was done. he told me "i have to go home" and he took the towel. when i sarcastically said "do what you want" he replied you have no manners. the next day the spa manager renee called me to tell me I was out of line. she was unconcerned about the customer. the locker rooms are not cleaned daily, the front door breaks whenever the winds blows. in the winter this is a problem. spa services are only available till 5. not for the working class! lip service is good, actions speak louder than words. words are plentiful, action non existing.
Not worth the $, better spas in NY!. Went here last night for a facial - i had received a gift card for $150. I chose the True facial ($135) however, when i got into the treatment room - the technician told me i "need" a peel - so of course i felt pressured and said yes. The peel was an extra $65 for one coat of product on my face which was removed in 4 minutes - total waste! Then she tried to con me into purchasing an $85 serum on top of it! Although the facial was very relaxing, the upselling annoying me. Felt like i was being taken advantage of. In terms of ambiance - it is lacking. I felt uncomfortable sharing the "Zen room" with men (since we are all in robes) and the room was also very crowded. The exercise classes were very loud as well. Lastly, the front desk staff were very snobbish and had an attitude. Likely will not return.
Horrible.........Do not go. Do not go to Exhale Central Park South. Although the facial and massage I had was great, the front desk service was horrible and very rude. Also Este who is the group cordinator is the most nasty person I ever spoke too. Exhale should really hire more professional people. I will not be returning to Exhale. And will tell all my friends and who ever I need to never go there as well.
Great facials!. Very professional and soothing experience! So peaceful and calm, would definitely go back. Great products as well.
look for the better place to do your eyebrows , don't give up to find the best eyebrow specialist. i was looking for a place to do my eyebrows, i had a big problem, i had no shape, tattoo only. when i came to exhale , to the famous eliza's eyes people, i hoped at least to have some recommendations, but i got hurt by comments about my appearance. it was horrible experience.By my lucky chance ,i found somebody else at the salon Mingle, and it happened to be that i got my eyebrows back with the help of people who care and know how to do it.
