Tips for Bleecker Street Pizza

Loved the pizza! I got 2 slices of the fresh mozzerella pizza. It was delicious! My son got 2 slices of the white cheese pizza. The slices were a good size and it was just enough.

amazing pizza. Went there because of all the hype (picked best pizza by food network Jimmy Kimmel et. al.) expecting to be disappointed. I can happily say that I may have had the best slice I have ever had- although I was slightly inebriated the first time my return trips are confirmation. I highly recommend the fresh mozzarella slice and the grandma slice. perfect crisp crust (I finished it all) and mouth watering dollops of yummy sauce.

great pizza, terribly rude staff. i live in the neighborhood and get pizza here regularly. i only continue to go because the pizza happens to be really good, but the guys who work there barely acknowledge you when you are standing right in front of them. it's as if they think they are above you, which is kinda bizarre considering they are working behind a counter at a pizza place!

Better Than A Typical Street Corner Pizzeria, But Not Comparable To Patsy's Or Totonno's. Five members of Meetup?s Thrifty Gourmets group and I field-tested Bleecker St Pizza on Tuesday, August 12, 2008. Although an employee of the pizzeria had repeatedly assured me before our visit that it could accommodate my group, space in the restaurant was actually very limited. Luckily, one of the countermen allowed me to claim a table before my fellow diners? arrival. He and his co-workers did not greet me when I arrived. They were a bit brusque, but outgoing. I had to jostle with other patrons to get their attention. Because there were no waiters, I ordered our pies at the counter. We were allowed, surprisingly, to take affordably priced beers and sodas from the refrigerated case with an implied promise that we would pay for them. Our pies were ready within 15-20 minutes and were delivered by a friendly employee who joked with us. They were prepared with fresh, but not outstanding, ingredients. The slices that I tasted were better than those found at a typical street corner pizzeria, but not comparable to those I?ve had at Patsy?s or Totonno?s. I did like their crispy crust, though. Pies at Bleecker Street are about $20 each, and imported beers are $3.50.

Forget them all this is by far the beast pizza in NY hands down. Let me start by saying that this system needs more stars in this rating because this Bleeker st pizza would get 10 if it were up to me. I always raved about Patsy's pizza uptown till I found these Guys my God words cannot describe the pleasure I had eating a slice of pizza at this place I started to think I was nuts how could I enjoy pizza so much at 39 yrs old I have eaten pizza everywhere . How did I not discover this place earlier? YOU KNOW WHAT WHO CARES CAUSE I FOUND THEM NOW . You have to check this place out I feel like I have an addiction to it 3 to 4 times a week and loving it.

Good pizza, bad service. I am very disappointed with BSP. I have ordered their pizza in the past and it is among the better pizza places in the Village (Lombardi's, John's, Arturo's are also great). Today I had a luncheon planned and called before 11:00am to order two pizzas delivered by noon. At 12:10, with my guests waiting I called to inquire about where the pizzas were and was told the driver hadn't left yet. I was told he would leave 'soon' but couldn't get any thing more out of the person on the phone. When I protested about it being late, his response : "we've been busy". At 12:40 the pizzas arrived but my guests had to rush through eathing since they had to be other places. Not only did the pizzas arrive 40 minutes late but also they were cold. I was embarassed in front of my guests because I had raved about how great the pizza was. Sadly, I will not order again from Bleecker St. There are other choices with better service.

Great slices, laughably bad service. You have to try the Nonna Maria slice. Period. Fresh tomatoey sauce, just the right amount of mozzarella, crispy crust... perfect. Be forewarned - the guys behind the counter are surly for no apparent reason - they'll ignore you and generally act like you're wasting their time. They never cook enough pizza, and they get offended when you ask them what other kinds of pie will be coming out of their oven. But they always have a Nonna Maria on the way. You may have to wait a while for your slice, but it's worth it. Just ignore the employees and their bitter, slice-slinging ways.

So rude you won't care what the pizza tastes like. Thought I would try this place out even though in our neighborhood it is hard to find better than the older more respected establishments. The "gentleman" who answered the phone was so down right rude that I cancelled my order. The owners/servers should realize that the people who actually own real estate in New York City and do not commute for work don't appreciate nor stand for disrespectful service. Plenty of other places to find good pizza with good service!
