Friendly salon with great hairstylists!. I've discovered this cute little salon a few months ago. I have been going to Lisa since then and she has always done my hair beautifully. Lisa has been doing my highlights and my haircut and she is equally good at both which in my experience has been difficult to find. I am glad to have found a stylist who can take care of me from A to Z. In the past, I remember going to 3 different people to get everything done and it was just plain annoying at least for me. Lisa does a beautiful job with my blonde highlights and with my cut. I have a short bob with layers which has been butchered many times by other stylists. He haircut is flawless. Last but not least, her rates are very affordable. The salon tends to be very busy in the everning and weekends so try to go during the day if you can. I am lucky to be have a week day off, however they serve wine after 5pm which is nice too! It seems to be a nice socializing place as well, people talk to each other and exchange numbers. It's very laid back, unpretentious but they give great service and the prices are affordable. I highly recommend this place.

Stay Away. Deserves zero stars for the way the customer is poorly treated. You are packed in the salon like cattle and they move you around while waiting for your stylist either for the appt. while your hair is being processed. There is absolutle no customer service and I really don't appreciate the stylisy conversing in her native language with her co-worker while doing my hair. They are absoluely RUDE.

As far as the haircut, blowouts,color and highlights you would do just as well at a hairdressing school with interns,

Their prices change even while they are doing your hair. They lie, lie, lie about the actual prices they initially inform that your hair will be. I had the prices written down on their card and they disputed me that that was not the price. They actually had the nerve to argue with me and became quite beligerrant.

They try to drum up more business while you are at the sink with the shampooer by saying they will give you a discount if you have this or that done that day. They are real conivers and I hate that and this salon.

I recommend Pietro. I've been going to this salon for a couple of years now. They have great prices for blow dry and highlights. Pietro has been doing my color and haircut and I couldn't be happier. He is really really good with haircuts. he gave my hair a nice shape and movement. Although it looks the best when he styles my hair with pincurls- the old fashion way, which give my hair a sexy soft wave, I can also just leave my hair dry naturally and it falls right into place. I guess this is what I call a perfect haircut! I am so happy to have this great salon in my neighborhood. Everyone there is friendly and very accommodating. I get compliments each time I get my hair done.

Great find on the upper east side. A friend gave me a gift certificate for a hair color and deep conditioning treatment. I was not sure what to expect and I must say that the experience was relaxing and the results exceeded my expectations. Caroline spent time finding just the right shade for me and made sure I was comfortable before she proceeded. The conditioning treatment left my hair soft and shiny. The blowout was professional and I walked out feeling confident. Great place and highly recommended.

Worst Haircut I've Ever Gotten!. I live in the area and desperately needed a haircut, so I decided to try MV Salon. Well, that was a huge mistake. I got the worst haircut of my life. Frank was my "stylist" (and I will use that word lightly). He cut my hair completely uneven! I did not get my hair blown-out after my cut, so I only noticed it when I went home and blew it dry. It was at least 1/2 inch longer on one side than the other! I went back to the salon immediately, and Frank basically blamed me because "he shapes and styles the hair after he blows it dry" Apparently he is OK with sending someone out the door with a botched hair cut because he didnt dry it after! Then, he wouldnt let me speak to a manager or owner, and he didn't want to deal with me so he sent me to another stylist to fix my hair. She had to completely start from scratch and re-cut my hair because it was beyond repair at that point! I left in tears. Absolutely AWFUL experience! (Look at the reviews on other sites and see how negative they are!)

The highlight of my day...Kali's color!. Can't thank Kali enough for the awesome highlights she gave me last week! It has literally taken me years to find a hairstylist who possesses such a natural talent with those shiny foils!

In the past, my hair was turning out too light, too dark or just plain dull. Kali changed that with her refreshing technique and expertise. She added dimension and lift to my slowly graying hair

Amazing experience and expert hands. My hair looks, and feels amazing! I'm a blonde with very thick hair, and have been getting highlights done to my hair for 10 years now and have never had them look so well blended, with so many dementions.

Today Chris colored my hair. He brought it to my attention that I have a lot of golden in my natural hair color; with this he added high and low lights blending in with a golden color(not just bleach) and my hair color looks so great! It's perfect for the fall, not too blonde, but still pops. I love it! He has such a fun personality, I had a blast.

I've never been more satisfied with my hair! I can't wait to show it off!

Darling Dao :). I have been getting my hair cut at a different salon for a over a year and lately have been leaving less than pleased. A friend suggested I go see Dao at Marianne Vera; She is THE BEST. She really worked with my hair texture and kept the length that I was holding on to.

She changed my hair just enough to give me the confidence I needed and I have been receiving compliments ever since my visit to MV.

Dao is super sweet and has great style. GO SEE HER!

I will definitely be back.

Thank you Pietro for the best Baleage. I finally agree to let Pietro change my look. He patiently worked his magic and gave me one of the best Baleages. My hair looks so beautiful and I feel so much better. Who knew I will ever say yes and change the way I looked. He was very patient, answered all my questions, made feel great. My brushing was really outstanding eventhough my hair is so difficult to work with. He is a real gem and every one at the salon was nice and courteous. Pietro is definately the one not only for the best Baleage but also for the Brushing.

Caroline is the best!!!. Caroline, the owner is probably one the best stylists you can find on the Upper East Side. I have tried many different hairstylists and after a long search I am faithful to Caroline. She has always created exactly what I wanted, always did superb hair color and highlights and a perfect hair cut. I have difficult hair to work with, damaged with the highlights and coarse and it has never been a problem for her. I am still doing highlights but my hair is much healthier and shinier since I am using Caroline. On the other side, she is very funny and entertaining. Call at least 2 weeks in advance because she is always booked! Thanks Caroline
