A Gem on the UES. Girls, I have gone from blonde to brunette and back...about ten times. I like to rock a different look/color for just about every season. The magician that makes this work without destroying my strands is Chris the Great. My blonde do comes out with natural tones that bounce light in every direction. I recently went dark, admittedly it's always a bit sad to say goodbye to the blonde, but Chris managed to make me a brunette for the fall with some amazing face-framing lighter pieces amongst the rich undertones.

This summer I was so sick of the frizzy mess I had going on so I decided to get the keratin treatment. All I can say is that “This changed my LIFE!!!” To be able to wash and wear without even touching my blow dryer seemed like some kind of urban legend, but with the keratin it is fact! It left my hair smooth and silky without any hint of frizz, and also didn’t completely destroy my natural wave (that I wanted to keep, although they can make it totally straight if you wish). Also, when I did blow my own hair it was amazingly manageable and really held its shape- like when Chris blows it out himself.

Don’t make the trek to the ego-filled over priced salons on Madison, see Chris at MV for a fabulous uber chic look.

I highly recommend MV Salon to everyone.

If you are looking for some fashionable culture variation for your hair, then this is the place. No need to take a plane to the Chan Elysee for a new stile. Just go to MV Salon in New York on second avenue between 76 and 77 street.

I have been meaning to leave this review. This salon is very unprofessional--and greedy at that. My friend was so excited to get me a 100.00 gift certificate to this place. I called to make sure it was still valid after some time and was told yes. Unfortunately, someone in my home mistakenly threw it out like 1 after I had called. They were very unprofessional and told me that they're computer system was broken and they no longer had a record of my friend's purchase. I was told twice that someone would call me back. I am still waiting months later. Basically, they got 100.00 for doing absolutely nothing. Good job MVSalon.

I've been going to this salon for a couple of months to get my blowouts. I usually go with whoever is available at the time that I walk in but so far Kali had beeb my favorite. In addition to being a great hairstylist, she is very personable and listens to what you really want. I was tired of my streaky blonde highlights and wanted to go back to one color. Kali told me red would look good on me and she showed me a couple of options. I decided to go for it, made an appointment and I am so happy with my new color! Kali did such a superb job, that I only received compliments. She also gave me a little trim, which seem to have given my hair a nice natural healthy bounce! Everyone is very nice at MV Salon but Kali is my stylist. I recommend this salon.

If you're looking for a fashionable european haircut along with a great new hair color RUN to Marianne Vera. Ask for Caroline. I went from being a Brunette to being a fabulous Blonde; and loving every minute ..... like going from ordinary to extraordinary. Don't expect to be served Cafe Au Lait and croisassant. Just expect you'll walk out more glamourous than you walked in!!!!

Customer service does not exist at this salon. I had a horrible experience here I don't recommend this salon to anyone. Please avoid at all costs. I was treated with no respect at all. My hair is horrible and the stylist was completly not focused on my hair or me as a customer the entire visit. I will never return to the salon!

Stay away . Their color burns your hair. Stay the hell away. These people are using the most inferior quality of hair color in their salon.

I only gave this place a try because I was tired of commuting to my top rated hair salon where I used to get the best highlight . I read the reviews and figured this place should be okay , so I gave them a try.

They burnt and fried my hair , I guess that is how they make up for their low fees , I wish they would charge more and instead would use better quality of color .

They are horrible. Stay awaaaaaaaaay . Please stay away if you want to avoid permanent damage to your hair.

Kali - highly recommended for hair cuts & highlights!. MV is a great salon. What makes it great....The stylist, Kali!! She is very patient amongst a busy salon. She pays attention to detail all while having friendly & meaningful conversations with clients.

I like that she is personable and remembers previous conversations with clients. She has a great sense of all types of hair and makes great suggestions for new looks.

I highly recommend requesting Kali on your next or first visit!

Caroline is the Best!. Indeed after trying many stylists in the city, Caroline is the one, by far who gives me the best haircut and hair color. Because she only works 3 days a week and she is always booked solid I decided to try another salon a friend had recommended and although the colorist did a good job with the color I didn't think that it was quite the right tone for me. Caroline's color and haircut are flawless and most importantly she does a perfect haircut for me. The color tones she uses also seem to be perfectly matched with my skin tone because I always seem to look rested and younger after she does my highlights. Kind of weird but it's true! Caroline is my hairstylist from now on and I figured out that if I call about 2 weeks in advance as opposed to the last minute like I used to do before, I get the appointment. Just a matter of organization! do make an appointment because this place tends to be busy.
