So what are we doing with my hair today, Monet?. 'm not the kind of girl who gets compliments on her hair. It's stick straight, coarse, and prematurely gray at an age where it no longer feels like a novelty feature. Added to that equation, a total lack of knowledge, interest, or skill in styling and no idea what I'm looking for when I sit down in the chair at the salon. In the past, I always said, "I don't know. You're the expert. What do you think would make me look good?"

Nobody was ever willing to put in the time or effort to figure out what would make me look good, what would make me happy. All that changed when I met Monet. She spent all sorts of time figuring out what I liked about my face, how much time I spent on it, how much time I was WILLING to spend on it (none), etc. At this point, I walk in, sit down, and say, "so what are we doing with my hair today?" I usually spend the rest of the day making doe eyes at cute boys and staring at myself in every reflective surface that I pass.

Loyal customer for three years. Eddie is the only person I have let touch my hair since moving to NYC three years ago. As a midwesterner, I was concerned about finding an affordable salon for highlights and cuts that meet New York standards of high fashion. My stylist Eddie is the BEST, and he really listens to what I want regarding color and style, while assuring I leave the salon with gorgeous hair. His work creates a soft feminine look, yet still conforms to the cutting edge attitude that makes New York a fashion capital. I realize by letting the rest of the world in on this secret, he may be harder for me to book in the future, but I have got to be honest. He is amazing!!!

Eddie's Optismooth. I got Optismooth straightening done by Eddie about 4 months ago. It literally changed my life! I can't say enough how much I love it.

I had the Japanese straightening done on my hair over a year ago and it became so dry and brittle. Because of that, I was hesitant to let Eddie do the Optismooth. However, Optismooth was very different. It's exactly like Eddie promised. My hair is smooth, healthy, straight and easy to manage. I love it and highly recommend it!!!

Perfect Color AND Cut. I have been going to Eddie at Lotus for over three years. It is almost impossible to find someone who is truly talented in both color and cutting. Eddie does both consistently and he gets it right. He listens and gets my color and cut the way I want it every time! He also gives you time and attention. I would never go anywhere else, Eddie is it!!

Eddie is fantastic!. Eddie has cut my hair for the past five years, and I am entirely devoted to him. I am considering moving out of NYC and still plan to make trips back to see him. I have never received so many compliments on my hair, and the cuts last a really long time. Eddie is professional and a delight to spend time with - the salon is relaxing, friendly, and beautifully decorated. I can't say enough about Eddie - I refuse to go to anyone else! :)

Eddie!! <3. When I first moved to New York 4 years ago I was on a hunt for a good hairdresser. Everywhere from small boutique places to top notch stylists at Bumble & Bumble. I couldn't find anyone I liked. Then eventually I stumbled onto Lotus salon....just walked in..and Eddie cut my hair. I never got so many compliments about my hair. My best friend told me not to go to anyone else. I have been maintaining short hair for a long time. When you have short hair the cut is really important plus you have to get it cut very often. Over the years I have gotten to know Eddie and I won't go to anyone else. i trust him and all I have to do is tell him do what you want and I am always happy. If you are looking for a great hairdresser I recommend you check him out!!! You won't be dissapointed.

Eddie is a Genius!. I left my hairdresser of 5 years and started going to Eddie about a year ago. He really understands hair, layers, and the true indication of a good cut is that it looks great for months! My hair is on the thin side, and he always cuts and styles it to look voluminous. I highly recommend visiting Eddie at Lotus.

great salon-- worth the trip from philly!. When I moved to New Jersey a few years ago, I was looking for a place to get my haircut-- but as someone who is extremely protective of my hair and terrified of getting a bad cut I was nervous to try a new place. A friend of mine who had moved from the city recommended Eddie at Lotus. It was the best haircut of my life and I've been going back ever since, even though I now live 2 hours away in Philly. I have a thick head of unruly hair and since I've been going to Eddie my hair has never looked better and I've never done less to style it. Don't know how he does it, but it's worth the trip and the price!
