What People Are Saying About Hiro Ballroom

More Kyoto than Tokyo, this Japanese-themed room fills up with edgy beauties and rockers. Paper lanterns of many sizes, shapes and colors cast a dim, sexy glow across the high and round-ceilinged room, with the aid of votive candles and red string lights. Embroidered satin banquettes line the perimeter, providing good stadium-style sightlines for stage shows, and VIPs congregate in the balcony lounge, where nooks are sanctioned off with rice paper screens.

Editor's Tips

The Extras:
Start the night with sushi at the Maritime's Matsuri.
Know Before You Go:
To join the chic table set, call in advance to book a table.
On the Menu:
To deviate from the Grey Goose bottle standby, try a carafe of Sake instead.

  1. The decor is exquisite.
  2. We were attracted to go since everyone said they had pretty decor but the bouncers were rude and everyone was smoking inside the clubs.
  3. Yes, the decor works, DJ stinks, Bartenders aren't so good at making drinks and the busser.
  4. The decor and layout of the place were not bad.
  5. The place gets kudos for decor, however, the sound system is mediocre and the crowd is the typical B&T and Eurotrash that likes to party in the Chelsea/Meatpacking clubs.

  1. Once inside I made the way to the bar where I was treated to more rudeness by the WORST bartender I have ever encountered.
  2. overpriced drinks like any other place.
  3. Yes, the decor works, DJ stinks, Bartenders aren't so good at making drinks and the busser.
  4. There's a big curved bar that provides more bar space than a flat bar.
  5. The only problem was the drinks were expensive.
  6. $11 for a Crown Royal in a NYC nightclub is not overpriced IMO, so again the reviews about overpriced drinks I can't really understand either.
  7. bouncers are okay, the space is beautiful, drinks are pretty good.
  8. figured the drinks would be good since it cost so much but it's pretty weak, which is surprising.

  2. nice place, horrible DJs
  3. So there was no good place to dance, especially as you oversold the place greedily and it was packed.
  4. The neighborhood is nice and the place looks nice from the outside, but once you get in, you notice how the bouncers let so many people in that the place can hardly accommodate.
  5. So, great place - BUT GIRLS, don't expect to get treated well there!

  2. The crowd is a bunch of weird looking sketchy old people with tatoos, and other computer geeks that couldn't get in anywhere else

  4. Hiro is a great place if you like to dance freely without bumping into so many people.
  5. We only got two bottles, but the doormen were cool enough to let our entire group skip the line, and just have the people not getting bottle service to pay the cover.
  6. the bouncers here are rude.
  7. when busy more bartenders may be necessary, but overall good service in a matter expected of a high volume nightclub.
  8. THe bartenders were snooty, and I got cut with a piece of glass that was on the floor that no one cleaned up when some drunk idiot busted it.

  14. horrible staff
  15. live music on tuesdays is great and the upstairs is set-up perfectly for groups wanting bottle service or fro couples wanting to impress there partners.
  16. DO NOT recommend this place unless they hire some new staff to handle the door situation.
  17. Bouncers are obnoxious, just as obnoxious as staff once you get indoors!
  18. The service was pretty good.

  22. The people are fabulous, the music is chill, and and the door policy isn't too strict.
  23. had a birthday party here the other week, purchased bottle service and I can tell you that this place MAJORLY SUCKS for 5 big reasons:

  3. That is a huge difference - more than double the amount I actually spent!
