Great Restaurant and Lounge.... Great Value..!. There are many places to choose from on any night in NYC BUT this place should be your regular hangout... Hip crowd, great food and just a fantastic atmosphere..! I went out with 5 friends to celebrate our birthdays... the staff was very attentive, the food was exceptional... the music was playing... PERFECT..! Around 11:00pm the louge area starts to fill up and the vibe just gest better..!

Everything you could want in a restaurant or lounge. Upstairs offers an intimate dining experience (they have excellent french food), while the downstairs has an unsuspecting lounge and club room. I'm really into the rustic charm of the venue, complete with dim lighting, exposed brick and vintage chandeliers. Great date spot or to go with a bunch of your friends. It's not pretentious and the staffs very welcoming.

The downstairs is HUGE, although you may not figure that out just by walking by so take a stroll around. Awesome DJ Friday nights, with a fun, international crowd mixed with E. Village locals. Fun place to just grab a beer and be low-key or switch it up and join the full on dance party. Also a great venue to throw a birthday or an event.

Very good looking crowd. I recommend Affaire as a great space for a Birthday Party and/or Corporate Event. It's sultry, plush and cozy - and most importantly very spacious. I love the set up and the decor too. If you stop by during the day - make sure you check out the downstairs!

We had dinner there too - i esp liked shredded rabbit frisee salad and affaire's signatre lobster baguette was amazing! Everything else tasted delicious too - and for what they offer it's really inexpensive, - i was pleasantly surprised!

Next time i'm bringing my date there ;)

Ah yess and also warm chocolate cake tasted heavenly...melts in your mouth together with the ice cream....mmm

You should check out the gallery - affairenyc. Definitely recommend visiting!

I'll be back again!. The perfect spot to go on a date. Affaire is romantic, quaint, and sexy. I went out with my boyfriend here and felt like we weren't in NYC anymore. When we walked in it did not look like your average restaurant. It had an antique-y look and feel to it which made it very romantic. We ordered the french onion soup and the roasted beets with almonds and goat cheese brulee. I could not stop eating both, but I knew I had to save room for the main course and dessert. I went with the rotisserie chicken while my boyfriend ordered the filet migon. They were both cooked perfectly. And the finishing touches to our meal was the creme brulee which was divine. Unfortunately we did not get to experience the lower level lounge/bar, but don't worry Affaire we will be back soon!

Great food, awesome vibe. I will for sure be back again.. Cozy glimmer, booths, wooden table tops a bar that served up a welcome entrance. I met friends for dinner at Affaire Friday. We ordered a few share plates... though I don't eat meat; the sauteed spinach was tasty. The endive salad with walnuts, pears was scrumptious. Almost ordered another one for the table. The roasted wild mushrooms and herbs were really savory and strong.

After dinner, we headed downstairs and stumbled upon a room that seemed somewhat of a hidden modern Parisian den. East-village, but sexy and breathy room with ambiance of french chandeliers and good music...really upbeat house dj that night, and the other room had a party that seemed more pop.

Over good vibes with a Paris-fun. I will most definitely be back again.

Great spot for a private dinner party. I had the pleasure of hosting my best friends surprise 30th birthday party in the downstairs room of this new french spot and it was a hit! The decor was impressive and allowed for us all to feel transported away from the city for a few hours. The food is delicious, i got a meal of truffled mac&cheese, short rib bourguignon and creme brule' and I was very pleased. I am not normally a fan of salmon, but i was very impressed when i tasted my girlfriends dish (some kind of mustard reduction i believe) overall, everyone (we had 35 people) was very pleased with the food, the experience and the vibe. We will definitely be going back.

Pedestrian French Restaurant. Attractive place...

Poorly managed....

the food Risotto with lobster is in reality a nine plate of risotto with a very small of lobster...but with a lot of lobster smell

The steak au poivre, is a piece of new york steak very not french...specially when you mention the menu name "steak au poivre".

The baguette and butter was OK!

Service a bit slow

Very OK. The place is very cozy and attractive. I went on a night when it was snowing out and still the place was full. I agree that the booking system still has its kinks and I wasn't quite sure I had a reservation or not until I showed up and luckily I did, though I suspect it was a result of the bad weather.

The food we had was overall good, but the portions are small. This appeals to me because I like to try a few dishes. If you have a big appetite be sure to order lots of food at the beginning. It took awhile for us to get more food when we decided we wanted to try other things. The escargot was not very good, extremely garlic-y and swimming in a soupy sauce. I could barely find them.

The service is Parisian style, and I mean that in the way that they are not service oriented. Be prepared to ask for everything, rather than being asked if you need anything, including more drinks. The bouncer was rude and slammed the door into my friend on the way out and then yelled at her that she should realize he was standing behind the door between the two exit doors.

The lounges were closed when we were there, but we had a peek and they looked really cool and nice. Overall i think this could be a really cool place, just set your expectations accordingly. It's not high end and you don't get treated that way.

Poorly Managed. This place sucks! Managers and Stuff have no idea of what they are doing. I had a party of 4 last weekend. We sat down for dinner and nobody came up to us, i had to get up and find a waiter. Our food took forever. Drinks were ok nothing special. Before we left i complaint to the the manager ( male) and he had to idea of what was going on, he was to busy texting on his phone while i spoke to him!!. Didn't even acknowledge what i was saying. I work in the restaurant business and is sad how poorly managed this place is. Will never go there again!!!!!

Beware if you're trying to book a party.... The catering manager wasn't very responsive and told me last minute that my large party wouldn't be able to be seated for dinner.

I thought everything was going to go swimmingly when I booked my party of 20-25 people for dinner and lounge on a Sat night. The Tuesday before I called to confirm that I'll have 28 people...suddenly, she told me that they may no longer be able to accommodate that large of a group for dinner and she was actually going to call me about that. What??!??! Because of 3 extra people?? And when was she going to call me, on Friday night when I wouldn't be able to make any alternative arrangements at all?

She then said she'd check with the chef and call me back. Well, she didn't call me back until the end of Wednesday, after I left her a voicemail in the morning, only to confirm that they wouldn't be able to accommodate my party for dinner, but would still love to have me for the cash bar afterward.

To me, it seems like a very poor decision for a new place to turn down guaranteed 28 diners and possibly more cash bar attendees so last minute. Just be careful if you're going to book large parties at this place.
