Once-cramped, this restaurant took over the adjacent space to accommodate its consistent crowds. Despite the expansion, the spot's quaint appeal remains its exposed brick walls and the shimmer of candlelight. West Villagers go for the Eggs Benedict and a glass of rose midday--more enjoyable when consumed at a table on the raised, deck-like platform outside. For dinner, healthy options like the eponymous salad and the halibut, simply grilled, are reliable; as are an assortment of other fish dishes, complemented with a side of fries served with gorgonzola fondue. Just don't expect to be seated right away as the line of regular patrons always creates a wait.

This is the coolest Village restaurant that haas managed to survive the old style trendy NYC Village atmosphere. Food is amazing, great wine list and service at the bar is proberly the best I have had in NYC with nothing but pure kindness.

This west village brunch mainstay has nice outdoor "deck" seating and some well executed food. Those in the know come Sunday nights for spaghetti and meatballs. Overall weak service keeps Extra Virgin from being a top notch locals spot. Despite what looks like a busy and full set of waitresses and busboys, service is consistently slow (unclear if this is due to high waitress turnover or understaffing). The hosts are usually unfocused and more preoccupied with talking to other patrons than managing the door. Bartenders are more charming and attentive.

Poorly run. Not a friendly place. The barmen are cool and nice. That's the only positive thing I have to say about this West village overrated place.
