They fired Rory. I couldn't believe it. He was my favorite. They can't seem to hold onto anyone at this place.

A quaint little place Charming, shyful, a little out of place With nothing broken Save for the name. Many a time I sat there In yellow falls In bitter winters In joyful springs In lazy summers. Sipping steaming coffee Munching scrumptious cakes Dreaming of glory and fame. Mending my broken heart In a place where nothing is broken Save for the name. I think I was there when the previous reviewer came in. I don't think I'll miss her or her friend. What a PITA. That said, Bruce, one of the owners of the coffee shop, is a grump -- the kind of grump who enjoys getting as much as he enjoys dishing it out. Personally, I find him utterly charming and a bit dashing around his rough edges. The other owner, Bob, is just one of the nicest people in the world. They don't have a lot of ammenities at the Broken Cup, but their expresso (latte, cappuccino) is the best in the neighborhood. I go, perhaps 2-3 times a day. The regulars are like a big family. Mornings are spent group thinking the NYTimes crossword. The strangers are welcome. I often go with my 2 year old daughter. She's a dynamo. They have always been wonderful with us. (Bruce says: Don't let her stand on the banquette! Some idiot kid just fell of of it. I say: No problem. I get it. It's not a big deal.) If you like Cheers, if you like Friends, you will like the Broken Cup. Just remember to drop your attitude at the door. You can socialize with the strangers or keep to yourself. It's a great place.
