If You're Looking for Boris - Neighborhood Barber for 25 Yrs.
I initially came to AZA Hair Salon a few years ago when my barber of 20 years, Boris, moved to AZA from the nearby Jean Louis David, where he'd been for a few decades. Boris has been rock solid with my hair every time I see him and is highly recommended for men who want to look clean, sharp, and stylish.
Boris has moved once again since AZA is closed for renovations as of April 21, 2012 - if you are looking for Boris, he's still in the neighborhood working out of:
Cleo Spa & Salon
407 Park Avenue South
On the corner of 28th Street
Manhattan, NY 10016
I still recommend AZA Hair salon as a spot for haircuts, but if you'r like me and are a client of Boris, you can call (347) 782-9621 to set up an appointment with Boris at Cleo Spa & Salon or just walk in MTTFS 10:30-7:30. Mention this review if you see him! Losing track of your barber is the worst thing, so I hope this helps those of you looking for Boris.
My stylist and colorist for the past 12 years - Aisha. I've always been very picky about my hair, was never satisfied until I found Aisha! She always does a fantastic job. My colleagues and friends are always complimenting my beautiful highlights, and layered haircut. She's a color expert, I'm her regular customer and in the summer I get highlights and in the winter she does warmer shades, and now I'm so used to her I don't even have to tell her what I want, she knows! She used to work at Jean Louis David on 23rd and Park but after the salon was closed she started working at AZA on 25th and Lexington. I've known her for years, she's a nice lady and always makes me look absolutely beautiful when I step out of the salon! AISHA is definitely recommended!
AZA is the best!.
I walked in to AZA to get a quick trim and walked out with the best haircut I've ever had in my 6 years in NYC.
I got lucky and Mr Aza himself trimmed my tresses. He listened to what I wanted and delivered like a true perfectionist. I know where I'm going for all my future haircuts.
Go AZA!!
Excellent for the price.
It was very funny -- I never expected such a great hair cut when the stylist was washing my hair because her bracelet was banging on my forehead
and her fingers with long nail was barely touchning my sculp. Water was too cool and splashed on my face time to time and smaged my make up.
BUT!!! the cut was excellent. She finished up very nicely. I was not happy with Salon V, where I paid twice as much and got horrible boxy squre cut.
Now, I got very swingy foxy hair. Very much recommended.
I love my hair!. I walked into this place randomly, which usually results in a bad haircut. But Albert did a fantastic job! He listened to what I wanted, but also added his own ideas, and I got a great haircut. And it was cheap too! I will definitely be back soon.
I Found My Stylist!.
Paul and his staff is AMAZING!
I can't say enough good things about this place.
I highly recommend a trip to this salon.
always a great haircut.
Paul is wonderful!
And they give the best head messages when washing your hair.
But the atmosphere is not the greatest.
If you are looking for the nyc full scale spa/salon experience this isn't it. But a fab haircut and an even better price can definitely be found here!!
