love my hair. I am very picky with my hair , so its very hard for me to leave a salon happy . My friend recommended olga at bamboo to me, and she gave me the exact haircut i wanted . I am so happy that i finally found a place with people that know what they are doing .

best salon on the island. i recently went to bamboo salon. i saw a girl in the mall and admired her hair color, she was a blonde. she told me to go to nikki at bamboo, that she was the best! i figured it was worth a shot. i took the girls advice, and i have never been happier! my hair is absolutely gorgeous, healthy and i didnt pay a fortune. one thing i also loved was that i was in and out of the salon in just about an hour, which is very important to me.. since i am a mother. i highly recommend this salon to any and all. parking was a bit scarce and the front desk could be a bit nicer...

Bamboo Saloon. This saloon stinks Was customer of Nikki and she recomended me to get a "body wave" from Suee and I got a spiral perm and some hair is pin straight--- I went back and she didnt even own up to her mistake

I showed a pic of what I wanted and I guess she is BLIND b/c it is not what I explained I wanted The owner of the saloon did give me a full refund so I guess this was an admittance that her stylist made a mistake b/c if she felt she did what she was supposed to I do not think she would have gave me my money back --- I will never recomend this salon to anyone- I was also told that the body wave will "fade" out and that is NOT true it has to grow out.... I was told by a reputable salon that the color rods she used on my head were not supposed to be used to get a SLIGHT wave to my naturally straight and healthy hair SOOO do not go to this saloon if you care about your hair because it Stinks....

Horrible. The teenage girls at the front desk should loose their snobby attitude, they do realize they work at a salon I hope lol. Emilio totally ruined my hair. I asked for highlights, my hair is dark so obviously you need to put a lighter base or walking out with white highlights on top of dark hair will look ridiculous. Anyway this so called colorist gave me a head full of yield sign yellow highlights on top of my dark base which I didn't want. I had originally asked him to just make my hair a few shades lighter which obviously can be done since there are dark brunettes who go platinum but either he didn?t feel like doing all the work or don?t know how bc he became very annoyed when I asked him this and told me he could only do highlights?yea right. Well he FORGOT to put a toner in it and put some glaze which did nothing. The place is so dimily lit it?s like you?re in the dark so I knew it was lighter then I wanted but couldn?t really tell. He told me how great it looked and actually let me walk out the door. Well when I saw it in the day light and in the light in my house I was in tears. It was a disaster, brassy, yellow, mismatched highlights. I had to take a day off work and go to another salon , pay more money, to have them put a toner over it which still didn?t make it look any better and washed out eventually. I should have returned and had this one fix what he messed up but I was so livid over what he did to my hair, I won?t go back. So yeah this place stinks. Oh and after reading some of the above reviews it very obvious stylists come on here to rate themselves.

New Stylist, you should definitly check her out........ A good friend of mine recommended i go to MELISSA at Bamboo for a haircut. I have tried so many stylists and have yet to recieve a haircut thats better then ordinary, until now! She really took the time to understand what i wanted the haircut to look like and what would work best for me. Shes even done hair for the T.V. show Americas Next Top Model! Since she cut my hair I have recieved so many compliments and I am so happy i checked her out. Even the price was resonable! Im even going back for color in 2 weeks.

Amazing. I never do these web reviews but this is worth it.. I went to see Emilio after I got fed up with my hair. It was in really bad condition after I colered it and cut it myself..And I mean bad..I don't know how but somehow he managed to fix the cut and the color is beyond amazing. The final price was even less than he originally told me it will be. This is the first time ever I walked happy out of a hair salon. I highly reccomend him.

Best salon I've been to in years. Highly recommend this salon. I decided to go to this salon totally on a whim after having my hair ruined at other places. I've been salon hopping for years and finally found a place and stylist I love. The stylists are actually nice, which is a change compared to some of the other stuck up staten island places. The prices are extremely reasonable (cut, blowout, glaze, highlights for around 130..can't beat that)and the stylists know what they are doing, especially with color.

TRULY THE BEST. I HAVE BEEN COMING TO THIS SALON FOR A WHILE, AND I HAVE TO SAY ITS THE BEST, IF YOU ARE GOING TO GET YOUR HAIR COLORED THE PERSON TO GO TO IS EMILO, HE IS THE BEST. HE TELLS YOU THE TRUTH, AND RATHER YOU BE HAPPY THEN JUST TAKE YOUR MONEY, LIKE EVERY OTHER SALON. THE PEOPLE THEIR ARE SO NICE AND ALWAYS PLEASANT :) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SALON.

make sure to book appointments in advance .. i just started going to bamboo , and i have to say that i have never been happier , my stylist was great and the prices were also very affordable , i def recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for a nice change.
