Nestled at the foot of the Williamsburg Bridge, this three-story nightclub summons the young, the broke and the devastatingly hip. Cute 20-somethings wearing side-swept bangs and distressed jeans catch the East River breeze in the lounge on the first floor. Behind them, a long bar and DJ booth lead to the back room--a cozy, red velvet-swathed seating area. Downstairs, mirrored walls work to expand a small space with a stage that attracts buzz-worthy bands and DJs. There's usually a line for the rooftop bar, but it's worth the wait. Atop the faux island getaway, palm fronds wave in the wind and…
great venue

Spoke to the person in charge of reserving space at Delancey, she was beyond accomodating and was able to book the back area of the bar (at no cost other than what you spend at the bar!). The party I had at the venue was for more than 50 people and not one person had any issues at the door (which if you ever have tried to have a party in NYC venues you know is rare if not impossible). While the main area was pretty packed the crowd was decent and the music was great. If you are out in the LES i would say delancey is a good/fun bar, if you are looking for a place to get a bunch of people together i would say delancey is a GREAT bar that unlike most places doesn't make you feel like they are doing you a favor and actually seems to welcome having you as a patron...
- Pros: Great music, good drinks, private space
- Cons: gets packed
Great Atmosphere, Great Value!!!
by xhinadol78 at Citysearch
Just threw a 30th surprise party there for the BF and coordinated all the details with Dana. The space on the roof is great, we brought in catered food which worked out really great and kept costs on the lower end. The fact that there was no music actually worked in our favor on this particular night because there was so much catching up to do with friends and family. We worked out an all you can drink deal for two hours which incl Absolut, Jack, Cuervo etc... When I got to the party I had to put out fires immediately because the bartender was serving people Popov and well alcohol... EW! Julia fixed the problem and apologized...
The following Mon Dana called to follow up and apologize. Despite the small miscommunication, the party worked out, they fixed whatever was wrong and most importantly everyone had a great time! GREAT VALUE, GREAT ATMOSPHERE! Thanks!
- Pros: Great place to catch up with friends, Beautiful Roof
- Cons: No music on roof
Who are the managers in the video?
by retorheft at Citysearch
I was thinking about going there, but the utter pretentiousness of the manager in the hat
is enough to make you want to throw yourself off the nearby bridge. The very negative reviews
and the the drinks and bouncers don't make the place too enticing, either.
