I LOVE THE SUSPENSION SUNDAY PARTY! wOO hOO. I really love this place. It's just an awesome space and I go here with friends when delancey throw events or parties. Three floors means lots of dance space, my favorite spot is on the top floor (the roof) I used to love Byte a few years ago, but now there's this funky sexy party they always have the Last Sunday of the month called "Suspension!" I freaking love it and I always have a blast here.

don't throw a party here--never going back. reserved a space for 25. dana called to confirm a few days before. when i arrived, there was only one small table that could fit 8 people. i complained and was told there was a larger party with over 200 people arriving. my party was at 7 pm until 9:30 pm, the larger party was not scheduled until 10 pm. there were plenty of other tables available. the staff overall was EXTREMELY RUDE. i chose this place because it was not pretentious, and it ended up being more pretentious than any club i've been to. my friend did not even tip the bartender because of her attitude, and this is a friend who always tips graciously because she previously was a waitress.

$10 for a mixed drink in a plastic cup loaded with ice

Great staff and burlesque shows. The Delancey Lounge is just a fun three story place, and on every Tuesday they have burlesque in the basement, and on Wednesday they have a burlesque dance party as well! What more could you ask for?

great venue. Spoke to the person in charge of reserving space at Delancey, she was beyond accomodating and was able to book the back area of the bar (at no cost other than what you spend at the bar!). The party I had at the venue was for more than 50 people and not one person had any issues at the door (which if you ever have tried to have a party in NYC venues you know is rare if not impossible). While the main area was pretty packed the crowd was decent and the music was great. If you are out in the LES i would say delancey is a good/fun bar, if you are looking for a place to get a bunch of people together i would say delancey is a GREAT bar that unlike most places doesn't make you feel like they are doing you a favor and actually seems to welcome having you as a patron...

Great Atmosphere, Great Value!!!. Just threw a 30th surprise party there for the BF and coordinated all the details with Dana. The space on the roof is great, we brought in catered food which worked out really great and kept costs on the lower end. The fact that there was no music actually worked in our favor on this particular night because there was so much catching up to do with friends and family. We worked out an all you can drink deal for two hours which incl Absolut, Jack, Cuervo etc... When I got to the party I had to put out fires immediately because the bartender was serving people Popov and well alcohol... EW! Julia fixed the problem and apologized...

The following Mon Dana called to follow up and apologize. Despite the small miscommunication, the party worked out, they fixed whatever was wrong and most importantly everyone had a great time! GREAT VALUE, GREAT ATMOSPHERE! Thanks!

Disgusted with this place. I paid $8 for small vodka drink then realized they were using POPoff vodka. That suff is horrible, costs like $2 for a giant bottle. They said I had to pay extra for absolute which was considered "high end" vodka and were really rude about it. I was nauseous after that.

Worst example of the new LES. Of course, if you love pretentious service, being ignored, paying a lot for drinks, and generally being treated like garbage unless you carry a lot of clout, this is is the place for you.

I read about the great DJs that this place supposedly has. But in the two hours we were there, we listened to Def Leppard and Billy Idol. The ENTIRE time. (OK, maybe there was a little Cinderella as well.) That was too much in the 80's and twenty years hasn't made that much hair metal any better. But in all fairness, the staff wouldn't know that because they probably weren't even in utero back then.

Every single seat in this place was RESERVED at 9:30 on a Saturday night. And yet, it was COMPLETELY EMPTY. We sat down at a table because all of the bar stools were removed - so you had to stand - and were promptly told by an unbelievably rude busboy that we had to leave.

Note to the staff: If you are going to actually sit around in the only unreserved section (the stools that were removed from the bar) because you have nothing else to do, you should be a little more discrete about approaching your only clients who have no where else to sit but in "reserved" seating. It looks bad. "Bad" as in rude, lazy and you just lost a good deal of business from this bar-goer.

Poor service, rude and rowdy bouncers. It was a nightmare and made a big mistake I picked this place over other places....bouncers were not friendly and were throwing their weight around as if they are owners....very rude behavior! Not recommended too expensive, poor service, too crowed and crowd...

Great for small party and good time. My girlfriend booked my 25th birthday party at The Delancy about a week ago. I was a little hesitant to have a party here since I've been to this place a few times in the past and the crowds were unbearable. We were able to reserve some space on the roof for about 30 of my close friends. It was very convenient for us, since we live in the LES and expecting a lot of out-of-town guests. We arrived about 10:30, with a group of about 15 to start. Once we told the doorman we were here for a party, we were quickly let in and made our way to the back staircase and up to the roof. We were quickly greeted by our adorable waitress and she began taking drink orders. Everything about the night was great. There was just enough space for my guests to chat and catch-up. If anyone wanted to dance, they just went downstairs and came back to the roof without any issues. Drinks were never empty. I recommend this place for anyone looking to have a good time with friends in an atmosphere where everyone can socialize and dance if desired.
