“The decor was very pleasant and interesting, and the drive from the city alone gave us the feeling of a getaway.”
“That was followed by striped bass with a pistou of spring vegetables, then homemade cavatelli with prosciutto and peas, then grass fed lamb (Most amazing I have ever had) with a stew of mokum carrots, and then a wonderful chocolate almond cake.”

Terrible. We went to this restaurant for my birthday. It was very disappointing experience. There is no menu that you can choose from. They have a few courses meal that they serve to everybody. You do not have any choices. You have to eat what they serve. They ask you about your preferences and dietary restrictions but in real life you will get the same food as everybody else. Also portions are tiny. There is no substitution for courses that you could not eat. The result was that we paid more than $600 for 4 people, left hungry and had to go to eat somewhere else.…
MOST AMAZING MEAL OF MY LIFE. I just had my Graduation dinner here with 12 people, including my dad who is a very picky eater. Every single person was amazed at the meal ! Everything I ate, I felt as if I was tasting for the first time. Once I tried the fish, I felt as though I had never had fish before in my life ! It was just so perfect, the flavors, the presentation, the service ! The waiters all come out in procession and everyone gets their plate at the same exact time. The menu consisted of a spring salad served on a slate with apricots, pistachios, and asparagus, that tasted better than any salad I have ever had in my life. There was hardly any dressing on it, and it didn't need it, just enough to bring out the wonderful flavors. That was followed by striped bass with a pistou of spring vegetables, then homemade cavatelli with prosciutto and peas, then grass fed lamb (Most amazing I have ever had) with a stew of mokum carrots, and then a wonderful chocolate almond cake. After the meal my brother in law actually said, wow I could die after that meal and be soo happy. My brother and sister just kept exclaiming wow, wow. Each course was perfection, all the flavors melded perfectly with one another, each like a flavor explosion in my mouth of the freshes ingredients you will ever get (they grow and raise almost all the ingredients right on the property). My grandmother didn't want the lamb so they graciously made her chicken, which my brother, after tasting it, said WOW that is better than any chicken I have ever tasted. It's all prepared simply without an excess of sauces yet tastes soooo amazing and clean and wonderful. I can't stop raving. The cocktail hour had amazing passed hors d'oeuvres that were delicious and I find myself craving today. I can't wait to go back !…
Good quality food, but a touch off. We came here for dinner. The reservations were hard to get. The decor was very pleasant and interesting, and the drive from the city alone gave us the feeling of a getaway. All of the products that go into the food are extremely high quality and it shows. That said, the whole thing just didn't tie together well and the prices were extremely high. I am told that we were there on an off night, and perhaps our experience was ruined by the fact that our orders were meat-heavy. However, for the prices that we were paying, I would expect more.…
Unbelievable. If you want an INCREDIBLE experience, go to Blue Hill at Stone Barn. From the breathtaking ambiance, to the impeccable service to the mouth watering cuisine....this restaurant is ranks high on the list. I only caution you on the prices. Two course meals (base option) is $65/person. Prices go up from there. But, it was worth every penny.…
A fresh-from-the-farm menu in the picturesque Hudson Valley..
In Short
Dan and David Barber of the West Village's Blue Hill restaurant have created a destination-dining experience on the old Rockefeller estate. The seasonal cuisine features
ingredients from the property's working farm, which includes a greenhouse and livestock. Several barns with stone silos dot the property, and meals are served in a rehabbed dairy barn. Dinner is mix-and-match with two-, three- or four-course options.…
