Love this Place. All I can say is this place makes you feel relaxed and is a great place for glass of wine or a share bottle for a date or after a long day at work. Try the Solo Reggiano and the Olive Paste Bruschetta. Warm, cozy, and if the mood strikes, even romantic!

Thank God there are other locations..... Bar Veloce is a great set up. I frequent the one on 2nd ave, and decided to venture to this one because of the proximity to my office. I think Ill be staying on the east side from now on. The food and wine is always great here. The problem is the staff, actually just one bartender. When I think wine bar, I think personal cozy staff. However, the main bartender made me and my group feel akwardly uncomfortable. He needs to get off of his power trip and realize that the people who tip him are on my side of the bar. Seriously, I really felt insulted and had no idea why. I would reccomend Bar Veloce, just not this location.

Loved it!!!. Read about Bar Veloces' in NY Magazine. We visited both locations last night and fell in LOVE with it. The overall experience was just simply fantastic. The service was cool and memorable, the bartender was very professional and not too chatty (we like that). The products they delivered was great! We'll definitely make this our hot spot in nyc!

Nice place with nice crowd. The ambiance is perfect for a wine bar, the service is attentive, and the selection of wines is good--including several options that are not commonly found in restaurants. We had a bottle of the Italian moscato, which is perfect for those who like fruity white wines.

As far as the food is concerned, we only tried dessert. The nutella panino and drunken gelato were somewhat bland.

Arrive either early or late, because all the tables and seats by the bar will be taken fairly quickly.

amazing atmosphere and huge wine and liquor selection. I LOVE this wine bar. The bartender is dressed in a suit and is an expert on all the wines, they also have excellent platters that compliment the wines. the atmosphere is very cozy, romantic and chill.

where wine rules!. having just moved to NY from the west coast, where wine bars are popping up everywhere and the term panini is now synonomous with hero, I was really impressed to see this styled out bar where the Italian bar food and wines by the glass are superb! i am now a neighbourhood junky and can't find a vibe in a wine bar anywhere else in the city!

Extremely Disappointing!!!!. Bar Veloce is a beautiful space, but beauty is only skin deep. We were a party of three, and we all ordered white wine. Two out of the three of us were unable to finish the glass - the wine was horrible. We ordered a strawberry/vanilla bean gelato dish that was not even edible! The gelato was swimming in a pool of balsamic vinegar. It was one of the worst things that I have ever tasted. We tried to send it back, and the waiter told us to speak with the bartender. Shouldn't he be the one talking to the bartender?!?! After several back-and-forths, he told us that he would speak to the bartender. Twenty minutes passed, and we did not receive any service. We decided to leave, and when we spoke to the bartender about the dish, he informed us that the waiter never even spoke with him. HOW RUDE! The bartender could care less about our complaint and swiped our credit card without a second thought. This was some of the worst service I have ever received in NYC, and I have lived here for over six years. If you go, don't expect too much....

Hip Wine Bar. Wine bars aren't usually a great combination of hip and good. They are usually one or the other, housing a great winelist but, stuffy clientele or great clientele but, sub-par wines. Bar Veloce manages both. The wine list is long but not daunting and the food list of eats is styled like tapas but very good. I heard all the paninis were good and that was exactly what I had. The place is a little cramped for my taste but, done very well. I definately recommend for something off the beaten path of New York bars and lounges.

NYC Wine Bar meets Italian Panini Bar. After attending an after work champagne tasting event my friend & I were in the mood for a light bite while maintain the tasting theme of the night Veloce offered just that! Being a true New Yorker who has lived in Italy I can confidently say that Veloce genuinely & effortlessly infuses a wine bar with a panini bar, while mixing in just the right amount of style & grace to pull in the trendiest of folks in our city.

The brick exposed & wine bottle columns enclose a vibrantly active, yet warm lit atmosphere, which coupled with the superb ingredients, such as the fresh buffalo mozzarella (flawn in daily from Italy), would have been suffice to draw us back there for another wine & food pairing experience. Although our professional server, Manny, with his artistic & expert descriptions of the personalized pairings he chose for us sealed the deal of transforming us into loyal customers.

We will definitely be visiting here again, and hopefully soon!

Romantic. What a romantic place.

Glad we both decked out - everybody looked like a million bucks.

Service was friendly and efficient.

We waited for a while. More chance to drink in the ambience - I was not in a hurry. Bar drinks were excellent.

Food was excellent, not cheap, but worth it.

We live in the city and go out all the time.

We will be back.
