nice staff, cool crowd. Friendly staff and environment, liked the laid-back vibe. No pressure to over-order, great location next to the Sunshine Cinema.
Nice Place, Friendly and Mellow. I love coming here for a drink after work. It's a calm, clean environment and I've never had any problems. My friend had her birthday party here, and the staff couldn't have been nicer.
Door policy at white rabbit now!!?!?!?!?.
I used to love this place, I've had 4 of my own bday parties here and recommended several friends to have there's too in the past , it was always a chill place you didnt have to worry about getting in or pay cover, but things seem to have changed.
I rolled by on a Saturday night around 9:30ish with about 9-10 people. It was DEAD empty inside. The guy at the door said if we wanted to go in, all 10 of us HAD to check our coats. We said f it and went somewhere else, we specifically chose this place because I'm not looking for a hassle at a door when I go out.
Maybe its a one off, but I'm turned off enough to not go back to this place any more.
Thank you for your review, and bring this to our attention. Our policy is that coat check ($2) are highly recommended on Friday and Saturday - seating is at a premium (most Saturdays all of our seating is reserved by guests who call ahead, and most of the reservations start at 10-10:30) Piles of coats take up our limited seating space and sometimes causes confusion when guests are rummaging through each others property upon departure. The doorman you encountered may have been lacking the subtlety in expressing this - and is no longer on our schedule.
Great staff, Great Cocktails, No Jerks!.
I was looking for a place to celebrate my 30th birthday and practically walked past this place a couple of times. It's not just easy to miss on the outside but really low-key on the inside. I spoke to the manager about time and table location and there was no mandatory table/bottle service or a deposit or anything.
The other partygoers in the bar where friendly, fun-loving and attractive with no jerks elbowing there way to the bar or being obnoxious. The DJ kept the party up playing Top40 mixed with some key mixes while the screen showed some abstract stuff to keep everyone visually stimulated. Big shout-out to Orion (sp?) who helped me out from beginning to end. This is going to be a regular spot from now on
Fantastic Staff. I recently threw a Benefit @ The White Rabbit for my theatre company (FLUX Theatre Ensemble), and I could not have been more impressed with the staff! Orion and John are fantastic bartenders, they were friendly and fast. There are no pretensions here, although the space is lovely and hospitable. Many of my guests commented on what a classy feeling the space had, which was perfect for our event. I would definitely recommend the space for parties, no matter the size. The lounge-y tables and seating can accommodate nearly every size group. Also, the happy hour prices are great. I am definitely returning soon!! Well done, guys!
Chic, friendly, great service. I needed a place for an engagement party, and a friend who is a DJ recommended the White Rabbit to me. We checked out a couple other places but liked the decor and menu of this place the best. The owner and staff were extremely accommodating throughout the planning process and the party was executed flawlessly. The bar staff was friendly and the drinks were made very well. We ordered several platters of appetizers which were all delicious (especially the mini burgers and the chicken tempura) and the staff brought them out in the correct order and pacing that we requested. The champagne toast and cake cutting were done perfectly. The decor is chic and elegant, the music was low-key and lounge-y during the party and then more upbeat and dance-ier as the night went on. Several guests commented to me what a great place it was for a party. Near the end of our party (around 10:30) the place got pretty packed with an eclectic and fun-looking group of people. We had a great experience and I highly recommend the White Rabbit for a private party or for going out with friends.
Friendly staff, not over-crowded, nice, just nice. Is this the ONLY user-friendly, not packed Lower East Side bar? I don't know, but it is one of few. The big screen TV showed an endless loop of a great Jet Li movie. The patrons could easily move around and were VERY friendly. We met a visiting crew in town from Turkey. Right before Thanksgiving. We thought that was very appropriate. The music is occasionally too loud, but otherwise it's easy to talk, enjoy yourself, find a table in the back and have a good time in a group. The bartender was extremely friendly, and good spirited-- despite our obvious lack of sobriety. The beer selection was nothing spectacular, but better than just Bud. The food was slightly on the bland side... but better and more various than the ordinary wings and calamari barfood of everywhere else. --Drink Club is a roving group of NYC drinkers
for those uncrazy nights. if you actually want to sit and talk with your friends this place is cool. the atmosphere is chic and mellow. If you are looking to shake your booty- go to bob's!
Quaint Little bar. The place was a friendly place to meet up with friends for a drink. Small area in the back where some people were dancing. Good place to just relax a bit & catch up with friends.
Not Very Mixed Scene. The space itself is very minimalistic. When we went it was Saturday night and it was nearly empty, unlike La linea where we went right after and it was packed. Overall it's an okay spot to hang and talk wiith your friends but not place to party or people watch. Plus it is not very diverse, everyone there is mostly asian.
While we certainly have our ups and downs on summer weekends, to say that our crowd is mostly Asian after visiting once may be unfair - this past week you would have seen a much more diverse group, ranging from Russian and French to Black and Asian. We are constantly striving to maintain that mix, but despite that, sometimes it's hard to get the Benetton ad just right.
