“perfect return from a weekend away, it was a warm sunny evening and our waitress let the two of us sit at a four person table by the front open doors, so we could enjoy the evening.”
“The servers are attentive and refreshingly happy.”
you can eat pasta and stay slim, it's wholewheat. The best thing is that all pasta bread and even pizza is wholewheat, so you do not feel guilty, actually when i eat there i lose weight! and that's important if you are trying to be a model :) awesome!!!
Really...they should be ashamed of themselves!. Okay..what can I say...this was one of the most horrible restaurant experiences I have in New York in a long, long time! And to make it worse, I was the one who suggested it to my friends, accustomed to dining in this neighborhood with NYC's top chefs and restaurant owners, like Mario and Keith. The so called "homemade bread" was stale, the food bland and flavorless and the service was unacceptable, fully equipped with a snippy waitress! AND to make it all worse, when brought to the attention of the "manager" the best he could come up with was a nasty attitude in lieu of a complementary drink to try to make it all nice! Nolitia bound diners DO NOT waste your time! This neighborhood has far too many gems to be throwing money away on a wasted dining experience.
lovely garden and simple, healthy, fresh, delicious food. I love this place. It has the cutest garden and delicious food. I have had lunch at Quartino at least 4x. Their fish is only wild caught and I have had the pleasure of having a wonderful halibut and cod dish there. Their wine list is reasonable with 2 great roses, although I am not a wine-ophile. Another reviewer said the food was plain and uneventful, but I found it to be simple, fresh and tasty. I highly recommend you try this place with a friend and decide for yourself. It is definitely worth it!
Great location, wonderful wine, but ...... A wonderful place to sit and talk, and wonderful wines. But we got tired of the patchy service. Sometimes friendly and attentive, sometimes decidedly frosty, if not rude. So we now spend our money elsewhere.
why?.
Do the owners think it is enough to serve organic wine and food without any care or refinement?
The food is uninspired, bland, not seasonal.
The wine list even worse. There are so many great organic wines who would choose this list?
I don't mind the pottery barn decor but come on you can do so much better.
Just okay. My boyfriend and I had dinner at Quartino this past Saturday night, and were not impressed. For a wine bar, their selection was pretty lousy. However, the ambience was nice and the service decent.
A neat Bleecker bar for organic wines and Italian nibbles..
The Scene
Smooth dark wood paneling, well-placed mirrors and parchment sconces harmonize into a clean yet inviting atmosphere at this conversation-friendly bottega. The space extends back to the stonework patio, decorated with large potted plants and climbing vines. East Village couples in their 20s and 30s stop in to savor a glass of wine, some cappuccino or a bite, infused with jazz and blues.
The Draw
The wines, served by the bottle or a generous quartino, are largely drawn from Italy, France, California and Washington, and a good number of them are organic and biodynamic. Though the chardonnay has the wine's typical oakiness, a tawny pigato from Liguria surprises with its spice and character; the pinot noir is big and juicy, with a dry finish. Staffers aren't as informative as they could be, but will offer recommendations according to your taste.
Perfect!. A perfect return from a weekend away, it was a warm sunny evening and our waitress let the two of us sit at a four person table by the front open doors, so we could enjoy the evening. We promised to move to a smaller table when the restaurant became busy. Who in New York does that? The two of us were even more impressed by the food which came out timely and perfectly. The wine list is a bit esoteric but if you look closely there is something for everyone, plus you can drink it in Quartinos! We will become regulars.
Divine!!. Wild fresh fish special daily, organic ingrediants, organic wine and beer, and cozy tastefull decor. My new destination. I've had the Red Snapper (perfectly baked) and the gnocchi (my mouth was truly pleased) and the chocolate cake (I dream about this cake.) I love that all the ingrediants are organic. The servers are attentive and refreshingly happy. And after a fantastic meal and a quartino of vino (or two) I was truly happy too.
A Gem!.
We had such a nice meal at Quartino. Make sure to sit in the back garden- much quieter and roomier than the main room. It was a delightfull atmosphere.
The food was excellent. Really enjoyed the spinach appetizer- cooked perfectly. And the fresh pasta was some of the best I ever head.
Our waitress was so cute and sweet. We will definitely return.
