Terrible

Terrible...BEWARE!

We came here on NYE because it used to be one of our favorite spots...boy, were we wrong. We ordered a round of drinks only to be given the wrong change back. When we nicely told the bartendar the issue, we were faced with nothing but lies. After repeated asks to see a receipt and for the managers name, we were told it was not possible to get either which made no sense to us.

At the end of the day, XES proved to be a very shady establishment if you have even the smallest issue, As a freguent customer, I can say I will NEVER go back there and plan to take this issue toi the highest level, no one should be treated like we were tonight.

good low key bar

I enjoy XES when I'm looking for a low key gay bar, also enjoy that its a little off the beaten path not in the middle of Chelsea scene or the HK scene.

• Pros: patio in the summer, free coat check
• Cons: 1 bar - can be hard to get to

Blacks not served

Gary is abartender who doesn't like to serve blacks. All of the other bartenders are polite and friendly however this one bartender needs to find another profession. He clearly has an aversion to black patrons as indicated through his rude comments and statements made. When one is working in the service industry it is important to be polite and friendly with the customers who are spending money in your establishment.

Don't bother.

I would rather go to a straight bar with a group of gay friends, then spend another dime in this establishment, which my friends and I helped the owners, who now have turned green and bitter, to build. Good luck closing your doors in the near future. We have moved on.

• Pros: Outdoor space during the summer months
• Cons: The owner gets personally involved in everyone's business. Stay clean of him.

great after work

stopped by with a friend not having been to bars in a while and was pleasantly surprised by the non-attitudinal friendly vibe. I'll go back!
