Great Ladies Night Special. Myself and my fellow lady co workers decided to go to Katwalk’s ladies night this past Thursday and had a blast! They have happy hr specials for ladies all night long. We were having $6 tinis & wines at 10pm at night in midtown! If you are looking for great drink prices with solid service, I would suggest making it a girl’s night out at Katwalk!

Horrible Service!!! Worst waitress/swindler ever!!. Last night, I went to Katwalk last night w/ a bunch of girlfriends and had one of the worst experiences in a bar ever. It was totally awful.

When we arrived at the bar, we wait a bit for a table, which was no big deal then my group found seats and we finally ordered drinks. Our waitress was fine until we got the check and she told us there was a $20 minimum for credit cards. I asked her if she wouldn't mind going to her manager to ask if okay to do $15 on 1 card because we all split the check of $92 and the rest we gave her was cash. She refused and just said it was their policy. We told her that it's not enforceable since it's illegal to enforce minimums on a credit card. She said she was unaware but that's what she is supposed to do. I asked her again to go to her manager and she refused again and walked away while I was in mid-sentence. Also, she didn't even bother to mention to us that there was an ATM in the bar where one of us could get cash too (I mention this b/c I only found out when going to the bathroom AFTER the altercation with our waitress).

Much to our dismay, she comes back to give us the change and then it turned out she charged our group a 20% gratuity. We take a look at their policy and it says parties of 8 or more get 20% gratuity added to the check. Our party was of 5 girls. Two guys in the bar came up to us and started talking to us so apparently she thought they were in our party even though they ordered drinks from the bar, not from her, and then came up to us. With that said, 7 people is still not 8 so why the gratuity automatically added? I go to her manager and he gives me a story about how gratuity is automatically charged to those spending more than $150 or parties of 8 or more but I reiterated that we were a party of 5 and 2 guys who happened to tried to "kick game" to us is still 7, not 8 people. To top it off, we didn't spend $150 either so I told him this was unjust and that we wanted that money for the gratuity back.

The waitress came back to us in a very confrontational manner and sat down next to me, throwing the money on the table. She glares at me and the rest of us and then has the audacity to say, "are you happy now?" I told her what she did was unfair and totally not right. She knew this was the case so she decided to insult us. She looked at all of us, with anger in her eyes & flailing arms she yelled, "Just want to let you know I make more money than you, live in a bigger apartment than you and am hotter, and all around better than all of you so I don't need your money. F*ck you."

Wow. Honestly, she was totally rude, tried to swindle us b/c she knew she was going to get a shitty tip for being so nasty and then insulted and cursed at us for being caught in the act of swindling/stealing.

I would not ever recommend going to this place with a group. You don't want that barmaid serving you nor do you want the headache my group and I suffered from going there. What a way to end the night! Gross!

Hello, Tiffany this is Charles Greenspan (The GM) we spoke at length about your concerns the night of and I appreciate your feedback. Just what the doctor ordered.... Needed a meeting place to gather with business associates & clients for a black-tie gala event at Gotham Hall, a block away.

Katwalk was more than accommodating in making the reservation, understanding the dynamics of the club & the neighborhood, giving me the comfort and confidence to believe the evening would come together seamlessly.

They made me feel welcomed, wanted and anticipated on the phone, even though we were only going for an hour’s worth of drinks.

It had plenty of seating upon our arrival at 5:00 and was hopping by 6:00. The waitress was cute, bubbly and also very accommodating.

The environment was new wave and refreshing. It was perfect for what I/we needed it for – just what the doctor ordered.

Great for after-work Spot. I have been working in the midtown west area for over 5 years and Katwalk consistently has some of the best after-work specials.

1.) They daily happy hour goes to 8pm! How many midtown places go past 7pm?

2.) Super cheap open bar packages for after work. We tend to do the $15 all u can drink on Mon-Wed from 6pm-8pm

3.) Then we will do the ladies happy hour all night long on Thursdays.

Also they have outdoor seating, which is also very rare in the midtown west area.

Worth checking out and they work well with large groups with some free seating.

BAMBOOZLED & LIED TOO B/C I AM BLACK???. After three back and forth conversations regarding a 35th birthday party for 8/6/10 accomodating 50 guests ... I was told the date was available and to come and visit KATWALK before making the $1,500 deposit. After visiting in person, and speaking with management at no time did anyone indicate the date was no longer available. Several attempts were made to the event planner to finalize the arrangements and make the deposit and none of my calls were returned. Finally I called her again 3 days after my visit and she indicated that Saturday was booked. When I said my party was on Friday 8/6, she stated that every day in August was booked! In a rude tone, she explained that if I did have a party @ KATWALK, she would have to get EXTRA SECURITY FOR MY PEOPLE! IS THIS HOW YOU DO BUSINESS? I feel we were improperly judged on our skin color (I work in law enforcement Headquarters and my boyfriend is a Sgt. for a Federal agency...and we still were black balled!) For this reason ... I will share my experience with any and every site that refers this establishment!

Solid Happy Hour Bar. My co workers & I decided to try Katwalk after a friend recommened their after-work open abr special.. We went on a Friday and did a $20 2 hr open bar from 6pm-8pm. It was a great deal because it included all import beers and Jack, Stoli, etc.. we got pretty hammared! LOLThe DJ was solid, with a good mix. The crowd was nice and diverse as well. The door guy was real nice and the servers were hot and mostly nice. I would recommend trying this place out.

Ehhhh. i went here for happy hour on a thursday supposedly 'ladies night" the bouncer at the door was extremely nice. but for happy hour youre paying full price for drinks such as vodka&orange juice or vodka and cranberry.. the glass was small and FULL with ice and tasted like juice and tap water. and was $7 that was what made us get up and leave after 1 drink....

waitress was nowhere to be seen, our drinks took FOREVER to come and it was not even crowded! and the place is small.

on the brighter side the bouncer was very nice and helpful, and theres no minimum to sit at the table but you can order drinks only from the waitress - which like i said is NOWHERE to be seen and takes foreverrrr with the drinks.

overall, not happy

Hello and thank you for taking your time to review us. For the last 6 years, reviews have helped us improve our operations and as a result offer a better experience to our patrons. I would like to talk to you about the waitress, if you have time please call me 212-594-9343 to discuss this point further, I would appreciate it.

We offer from 3pm-2am (11 hours) on Thursdays Happy Hour prices for ladies. For example, all wines & house champagne are $6, $6 select martins, $3 select shots & domestic draft beers, etc... Our highball glasses for cocktails are 9 oz , which is a nice size glass and pretty standard and we use measured pourers to make sure each customer gets a consistent and good liquor pour. Our house rule is, if someone takes a sip of their drink and does not like it for any reason we will make it again or give them a different drink of the same value as the one they original purchased.

Thank you for the kind words of our doorman

Regards,

Charles Greenspan, GM

Great Birthday Spot. Decided to do my boy friends 25th bday after a recommendation from a friend. Overall a good experience, we did the $45 premium open bar for 3 hrs and we got 2 FREE bracelets because for every 15 paid open bar bracelets they gave us a free one. Door scene was easy, no guest list or cover. The DJ was solid for a non club place. Also they gave us some free seating with no table minimums, which was very cool. Would go back again!

Midtown Bar with Girly Vibe. Katwalk is a sleek midtown lounge with unbeatable drink specials. With a slight girly vibe through its Sex and the City nights Wednesdays, and Ladies Night Thursdays, you can drink up before bar hopping at nearby dude joints like Galway Hooker and Ginger Man.

Happy Hour specials are Monday - Friday, 3pm to 8pm, with $6 Frozen Drinks, $3 Select Domestic Drafts,

$4-$6 Specialty Cocktails, $6 Wines & Champagne.

Grab some free appetizers for parties of 15 or more (Chips & Salsa and Spinach & Artichoke dip, $20 value) and sit back on the sidewalk cafe when the weather warms up.

Katwalk. I just moved to NYC and found Katwalk on Citysearch. Decided to have my 23rd birthday there and had such a blast! There was no cover and more importantly no drama at the door. We were a small group and had such a blast! Thanks for making it happen :)
