Editorial Review for Naidre's – by Erin Behan
The Scene
A friendly, down-home feel pervades the cafe. Inside, neighborhood regulars ogle a long line of desserts or squint to read the sandwich list on the chalkboard. Bench and table seating allows folks to sit and stay awhile, whether they're having a meal or just sipping a fresh cup of joe roasted in upstate New York. In the mornings it's the neighborhood moms and dads who congregate; weekends bring a casual lunch crowd; late-nights find couples sharing sweets.
The Draw
The gourmet sandwich menu is full of slight twists on the originals. The TBLT, turkey, bacon, lettuce and tomato with herb mayo on a thick ciabatta bread, satisfies the hearty appetite. For a lighter bite, try the tangy tarragon chicken salad on a thin slice of multigrain bread. Desserts, like the cupcake cake, reminiscent of a Hostess, could coax even a hardened Atkins fan into a lapse.

It looks like the perfect cafe. It has Moonstruck cache. It's convenient. But what is that smell? Moldy urine? The stench has driven me away, although I miss the free apples and no cell phone policy...
Pros: Free apples
Cons: Moldy urine

while there are certain things to be appreciated about naidres, like the no cell phones rule and the generally great food, interacting with the staff barely makes it worth it. It is as if they are all drugged and under water. they move at a snail's pace, spacing out between tasks. One time I called to place an order by phone to avoid waiting for 30 minutes to get a sandwich, I was put on hold and then apparently forgotton about. I hung up and called back and the line was busy, the phone remained off the hook for the next 5 minutes. Unbelievable! If you go, bring a lot of patience because you're going to need it.
Pros: food
Cons: staff
