The movies themselves play on HDTV above the bar, and next to the screen, glowing pink letters spell out the drink choices, with names like A New Phase of Life. – – The Food – The menu may not be as adventurous as the decor, but it's just as thorough in execution. Let's add rice and charge $14 instead of $6 in a recession?

Let's take all the side dishes that people seem to order because they are somewhat reasonably priced and add rice to them. We can charge $14 instead of $8. Bye Bye Bombay Talkie..... Nice knowing you...
- Cons: Outprice the customer..
Excellent Indian food
by magicloop2009
A great indian cuisine. A great place to have candle light dinner. A great place to dine for a date. You feel like you are in india, with the indian music. I order numrous mango lassi's, with rice and chicken curry with the sauce. Very delicious and by far the best Indian cuisine in NYC. Better than a buffet. No lines, hardly any crowds, just a while untill your food is served, so just be patient. The milk/yogurt drinks are great too.
- Pros: Better than the other Indian/Pakastani place
- Cons: Those manhattany-like prices
big fan of bombay talkie

i've never had a bad meal in my 30+ visits in the past 2 years. everything is delicious including the food.
i've read about "small portions" in some of these reviews - are these people giants? are their stomachs so big they need food for 3-4 normal size adults?
i always walk out feeling very satisfied with one appetizer (padhi chat) and one entree. i don't even eat the well-priced naan.
if you want to go to east 6th street for "real" cheap indian food, go for it. no one asked you! it just leaves more room for people with good taste.
thanks bt. love it there!
- Pros: imaginative menu
- Cons: i eat too much
The Details on Bombay Talkie
The Extras:
You won't find any freezer-burned mango ice cream here. Try the divine tapioca, swirled with berry compote and coconut flakes.
What to Drink:
The Toofan mixes mint, pomegranate juice, vanilla rum, Cointreau and champagne--and still manages to be light as air.
