Bustling bluegrass brunch on weekends, charming comfort food locals joint during week and way cool late night lounge on weekends. Wish they had place on west side. Try mac n cheese and the burger. One of my faves in city!
FROM BEST RESTAURANT TO WORST. I had a group of friends in town and could not wait to share Nolita House with them! It has been my favorite brunch spot for about 2 years and recommend to everyone. Boy, was I wrong. Either they are under new management or it was just an extremely bad day! What I used to consider the 'best bloody mary' in the city was quite possibly the WORST. Portions are considerably smaller - we only received fries with our meals instead of the usual skinny fries with house salad. Apparently they only give one items now, not both as the menu still indicates. The Eggs Benedict and Casserole were both over done - overall, one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in the city. My old staple has been retired.
Great Happy Hour !!. Had great time for Happy Hour with their special $5 cocktails and $2 tacos . bar crowed was very energetic , staff is very welcoming and most of the people sitting at the bar munchinn on Tacos . GREATTT !!
good food, good value. Stopped with my grand daughter for an early dinner. Most surprised as to how good it was. I was expecting a typical but mediocre dinner and was impressed by the quality of the food.
Nolita salad Super...
Wonderful service & great food at very reasonable prices are hard to find these days in NY, but the Nolita House has all 3.
So far, I've been here twice and we've tried the Chicken wings, Schrimp Tacos, Steak, and the nolita. All are very YUMMY!
It gets crowded pretty quickly, so I suggest coming early as there are no reservations.
This lively neighborhood eatery serves fuss-free American classics and keeps conversations flowing with delightful happy hour deals..
In Short
In a downtown overrun with overpriced restaurants, this schoolhouse-themed pub decorated with maps and chalkboards (scan them for daily specials) is an affordable outpost for students and wallet-watching wage earners alike. The fun-loving mix chatters and sips sangria pitchers, before dining on gooey mac and cheese, fat burgers and brick-oven pizzas with such exotic toppings as dates and arugula. Alternately, lighter eaters or canoodling couples can share terrific cheeses and wines by the bottle.
Hits: You'll step into a rabblerousing atmosphere where you'll indulge in free-flowing wine and gut-stuffing grub, or perhaps a tidy plate of artisanal cheese.
Misses: During the boisterous happy hour, your conversations will consist of shouting over the rock soundtrack. Additionally, the food's presentation is somewhat sloppy and burgers are occasionally overcooked.
The Nolita Salad is FABULOUS!. Seriously, I think it is the best salad! Restaurant is very cool and relaxed. Seems like it would be fun for happy hour. Highly recommend it!
Better than most.
I finally got a chance to get back to Nolita House!!
My freinds always call the shots. We enjoyed the food and and the bartender was cool. I missed the manager and his personal touch. I was not able to locate him and they said he hadn't worked there since forever.
The menu has changed some but they still had my personal favorite, Mac and Cheese.
They use like 6 different cheeses in it and bake. I first visited during the world cup and will continue to as long as they make macaroni and cheese.
It looks as though I need to go for bluegrass brunch after hearing all about it. Chow for now.
Best Brunch. Greatest brunch that my kids took me to. There were eight of us. Food came out perfect & tasty. Everyone had a great time. Love the free mimosas & sangria! Wait staff, very friendly & band was fun. Different than your typical jazz. Highly recommend to families.
Never Bring Large Groups Here!. I had a terrible experience here with a large group on a Saturday night. The restaurant charged us a "room fee" of $10 a head for dinner and didn't even give us a room. We were thrown into a corner by the window which had large cracks and caused the temperature to be unbearable. The service was painfully slow. The whole 3 course meal took 3.5 hours. The kitchen couldn't handle our request and as a result, our food came out cold. Additionally, the restaurant tried to charge us the room fee and prefix fee for 2 people that didn't show up even though the manager had specifically told us that we would only pay for the people who came. It took a lot of arguing for them to remove the 2 no show charges from our bill. The whole experience left me with a very nasty taste in my mouth.
