DO NOT EAT HERE. Sushi entrees were tiny, way overpriced and did not come with soup or salad. Sashimi pieces were as thin as they could possibly get. They also included their tip on a 2 person tab. Soy sauce dishes were filled with lint. A restaurant. com coupon was the only reason we went here and it was not worth it. Would rather get more food for less money somewhere else. We left hungry and angry.
Great sushi and tofu. The food was savory and the atmosphere was mellow. You can sit in front of the sushi table and enjoy watching the chefs cut up fish in front of you, which I thought was neat. It's definitely a good sushi restaurant where my boyfriend got rolls and I opted for the Foie Gras Tofu which melted in my mouth. However, the portions are small, so it's best to order some appetizers. And it was a bit pricey, but seemed well worth it since we had a $25 off Restaurant . com coupon. I'd return to eat there, but probably not without the coupon.
The only place I will go for sushi. I was told about sachikos by a co-worker and went later that night. Seated once we arrived and the entire staff from start to finish was friendly and sharp. Sushi was outstanding, I am no sushi connoisseur but everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. There was a nice selection of sake and the selections from the menu can satisify everyone. I will definitely return with my family and friends. Highly Recommended.
Excellent Restaurant. I've been here twice and each time was a delight. The fish was nice and fresh and I liked the different things they have to choose from. I had this tuna dish with some spicy sauce on it and I thought it was the best of everything I tried. I also had the Kushiage for the first time here. From what I remember they were pretty pricey but then again its in NY. I would go back to S.C. if I ever want good sushi and am in the area.
Surprisingly Reasonable Price for High Quality & Great Service!!!. I just moved to LES area and was looking for a nice Japanese Cuisine. I tried one place on Houston st, but wasn't impressed at all. So I went online and looked for a real Japanese food in the area, then I found Sachiko's. I went there few days ago with my friend and we had an amazing experience!! It looked kind of high-priced restaurant from the outside decor, but what a surprise!! The whole menu was so reasonably priced and the food was really freash and great! We were also amazed by their super nice and attentive waitstaff. It makes so much difference to be served by such civilized people!! Now THAT's called "service"! They also have a beautiful garden space for dining. We didn't sit there because it was still a little cold outside, but I can't wait to go back there again and try the outdoor dining experience at Sachiko's next time!
Excellent Japanese on the Lower East Side.
I just had one of the best Japanese restaurant experiences in a long time. I've been to numerous Japanese restaurants in New York City but the have always been underwhelmed by the food and overwhelmed by the price. It's a challenge to find the combination of great food with the right price. Sachiko's on Clinton on the Lower East Side is the right place that has dispelled my longstanding feeling about Japanese restaurants in the city. It has great food, excellent service and an ambiance that combines elegance with a touch of neighborhood that is perfect for a date, a small get together with friends, or a bite to eat after Yoga.
The choices were really interesting with the usual suspects of sush and kushiage but there were some fun twists to make the seemingly traditional looking menu jump out at you. We ordered the Shrimp and Squid Spring Rolls with wasabi mayonaise, Salmon and Jalapeno rolls, Scallop Kushiage, and the Salmon and Cheese (yes, cheese) Kushiage. I went a little conservative and ordered the Sushi Regular, which consisted of 6 pieces of fresh nigiri sushi along with a roll just to see how it compared.
We each ordered two glasses of sake recommended by our knowledgeable server (without being pompous or condescending). She recommended not only the "good ones" but pointed out the ones that customers liked, as well as the ones she has tasted. The meal came out to about $85 for two not including tip. Not bad for a really good dinner.
Awesome food--great sushi. I can't get over how much fun we had at this spot! We happened to read about them on this site when we new we would be in the area. Our friend had never had Japanese food before. Now he says he is hooked! The staff was way cool and recomended things for us. We will definitely be eating here again. Thanks!
Best Sushi in NYC!. I have been all over town to different Sushi joints and this is certainly one of my faves. I had amazing service and everyone in the place seemed all smiles. I will continue hitting this spot whenever I can! The manager always takes care of everyone here, as I continually see him heading from table to table thanking people whenever he has time.
Terrible time!.
My friends & I went to Sachiko's New Year's Eve for dinner. My friend made reservations a week before. We've been here about 2-4 times already & expected the same great service & food we've had in the past year. I decided I wanted tofu foie gras, black cod, & Tamatebako jewel box. Most of my friend's wanted the Omakase. Sachiko herself came over & asked if we wanted the big bottle of sake, we ordered the bottle & it was served in 6 wooden square cups
A waiter started taking orders, my friends ordered omakases, the waiter said there was no more. I ordered my jewel box, they didn't have that either. I ordered black cod only to find out they were out. I changed my order to Maguro Sanmi?.none, Tuna Tartar?.no. They didn't have more than half the menu. I told them wouldn't it be easier to tell us what they had on the menu, his only reply was the kitchen didn't listen to him
I settled on spring rolls (my 5th choice), & a sushi deluxe. I found out they had someone quit & a waiter was out sick. The waiter was completely incompetent as we had to repeat our orders about 3-4 times throughout the night. They screwed up the Sushi Deluxe dishes the 4 of us ordered. Each sushi deluxe that came out was smaller than the ones before. They screw up my sushi deluxe 4 times & had the nerve of serving sushi to the couple that came 1 hour after us (we had been dining about 2 hours at this point)
The Bottle of Saki we ordered was poured for a table of 2 across from us. They brought the bottle back to us 2 cups lighter without trying to make up their mistake. Besides having a half menu, what irks me the most is the service, how can a restaurant screw up the service so bad & be so incompetent to make a bad situation worse. At the end they said they'd make it up to us...... we received $20 off the bottle of Saki which was already served to another table. I was thinking, "Just step on me again please". I will not be going back here or ever recommending Sachiko's to anyone
Simply the BEST Japanese cuisine in NYC!!!. I've read several great reviews about Sachiko's in magazine articles and online, but I was a bit hesitant (and lazy!) about going there because of the location. However, I finally had a chance to dine at Sachiko's with my friends the other day. What a surprise!!! It was simply my BEST experience at Japanese restaurants in the whole NYC!!! The food is great and the staff are all very nice, polite and attentive. Their price (some people claim that it's kinda high...) is totally reasonable for the fresh and tasty food that they serve. It was just worth traveling to LES!!! I can't wait to go back there again!!
