The other Bowery bar offers 16 beers on tap, a full menu and prepster-friendly boozing atmosphere.. As any B-Bar reject who wound up at Phebe's will agree, this Bowery mainstay offers drinkers an alternative to the neighborhood's more glamorous (or would-be glamorous) destinations. Oft compared to Upper East Side joints like Dorrian's, Phebe's draws a crowd of recent college grads and young professionals, most of whom are decidedly more prepster than hipster. A DJ churns out Journey classics like "Don't Stop Believin'," encouraging the wasted to revert back to their frat house days, while the occasional requisite pop song encourages everyone to take another shot and loosen up.

AWFUL BAR, RUDE STAFF, UES invades E. Village. This is the WORST bar in the east village. Everyone from the upper east side wants to go out in the E.village so they come here. If you are not wearing a pin strip shirt, dont bother going boys. Looks like every male is wearing what their mothers picked out for them. I was also treated badly becuase of how I looked, are we still in the south? After expressing my distress to the bouncer, he did nothing. I would rather cut off my left foot then ever return to that bar. Dear god get new staff, who doesnt judge and seriously drop the pin strip. No one wants you in the e. village, go back the ues. And to the staff, get a G.E.D. do something when someone tells you they were treated badly. Its not that hard, actually its your job.

Friendly, accommodating, great place to hang out or chill out. The doorman even asked ME for ID. I cudda kissed him. The staff inside was extremely accommodating to our ever-expanding group. The friendly and attentive waitress, did double duty as a photographress. There was a good beer selection though the appetizers were nothing to write Aunt Matilda about. The atmosphere was as friendly as a barn-dance. By the end of the night, the next table just joined us as part of the group. Highly recommended. --Drink Club is a roving group of NYC drinkers

Wish all bars were like this. This is my favorite spot in the city. Its a bar that has space!!! Great fresh beer selection, food is yummy, private parties are fairly priced and no issues to speak of. Love the digital jukebox too.

Home Away from Home. I love Phebe's! Friendly people, reasonable prices, perfect balance of bar, lounge, club without the pretense. I'm here at least several times per month and whenever my friends and I have a casual gathering, we come here. The crowd is young, hip and artistic. The music is always a good blend of cool and eclectic. I'm not sure why a lot of people think that this place is closed. They did some renovations a while ago, but its definitely up an running.

Great to watch FIFA games. This is by far my favorite place to watch FIFA games this year. The place is faily empty during the game hours and you pretty much get once screen per table. The food is good (esp. wings, fries, nachos) and the service is attentive, but not pushy.

So if you want to watch sports - highly recommended, though no much going on there during the day. Yet to return at night and see what it has to offer then.

Good Place for Groups. I went here with a couple of friends for dinner. Although it was a Friday night, the place was not that packed. There was a good crowd inside and the food was really great. The burger was delicious and I was able to trade in my regular fries for sweet potato fries at no extra cost. The waitress was friendly and efficient. Its definitely a place my friends and I will be coming back to.

Good Happy Hour. My girlfriend and I often come to Happy Hour here. From 4-7 its 2-1 on everything. Gotta love that. During the baseball season theirs alot of Red Sox fans here. Yankee fans too. But who cares they both suck. LETS GO METS. Anyways I believe on thursday they do a wing special 20 cent wings. Wings were good. Have yet to try the rest of the food. No time, too busy drinking. But everything smells great when they bring it out to their tables. The bartenders give you a nice pour too during happy hour, so be sure to tip them well!!

NOT WORTH IT. My roommate and I went here because we were walking by. EVERYONE there happens to be the leftover people from BBar (across the street) and thinks that they are the coolest... when they are not! pushy shovey and obnoxious people make up this low class bowery bar. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!

My Birthday. We were able to reserve the back bar for my birthday party on a Saturday night. The music was wonderful, the bartender was 100% attentive and everyone had a wonderful time. If you are looking for a bar with good prices, fun atmosphere and laid back people I highly suggest you try Phebe's for parties or anytime.
