Editorial Review for Beard Papa Sweets Cafe – by Allison Austin

In Short
An assembly line of staffers in this slender, well-lit storefront keep the cream puffs rolling into eager customers' hands. The puffs are made with two layers: The first is choux pastry, which is the pastry that's used in eclairs and profiteroles; the second layer is pie pastry. The puffs are filled to order with a whipped cream-custard mixture. The puffs are best when eaten straightaway, but they can be refrigerated and eaten later.

i'm not a cream puff person, not into cream in general unless its ice cream, but i do like beard papa's cream puffs. I like how each day there is a different flavored cream puff. My personal favorite is organic strawberry tastes like ice cream. Not too sweet and not too overpowering or too heavy and creamy. Fast quick service unless there's a bunch of people ordering a dozens of cream puffs then it takes a little bit of a while, but not too long, the staff is friendly and they have different teas as well. The cheese stick is pretty good so give it a try.

Pros: yummy cream puffs, different flavors, cheap eats, friendly staff

Cons: limited seating, trendy people walking in and holding up the line.

It may be no surprise to the locals, but it was a surprise to me on how these little Japanese treats ended up being so sweet and tasty. They're not heavy, somewhat creamy the kind where they make for the perfect after meal dessert. The best is when they're a part of a fresh batch and cold out of the fridge isn't bad either.

Pros: Cream Puffs, Price, Service
