Editorial Review for Aer--CLOSED – by Erin Behan
The Scene
The expansive club and its sharp mix of modern design elements threatens sensory overload. Reflective ceilings and a main bar backed by resin drops filled with silk butterflies meld into a starker lounge area and dance floor where the white, curvaceous walls slowly change color with the lights. Thankfully, the two banquettes and table areas aren't always reserved for bottle service, though it's readily available. The DJs, more interested in squeezing in another danceable tune than in executing a flawless mix, deliver a steady stream of favorites that gets the crowd dancing. Drinks are strong and pricey.
The Draw
The high-traffic Meatpacking District location assures an influx of well-heeled 20- and 30-somethings looking for a good time. The real place to be is the downstairs VIP lounge. The cleverly designed space uses lighting tricks on the glass walls to create a Miami-inspired fantasy with white couches and clear tables.

I went to Aer with 2 of my friends on a Friday night to celebrate my birthday and had an amazing time. The inside crowd was not bad, but we had lots of fun because of the dancing opportunities and the music. Definitely recommended if you want to have a good time dancing.

If you can get through the stuck up door ladies who has no social skills... The host at the door with the clip board is a waste of space, she has no clue who's on the list, almost like she couldn't read. She was on her cell phone the whole time texting someone and didnt bother to answer anyone's questions. Didn't even look like she wanted to be there...who'd want to go into club where the hostess doesnt even look excited to be there???
