Planning to go there.... I'm planning to go there. Do I need to get my name on some list or something to be allowed to enter?
I Was Robbed at Cain.
We bought a table for my girlfriend's birthday party and 2 wallets were stolen from right under our nose. In addition to my wallet, my badge was also stolen, which is obviously serious. (I work for a public authority at a pretty high ranking position for my age.) At no point, did we ever leave the table, the bags were sitting behind us on the seat, so whoever stole our stuff was a professional. The mgmt of the club couldn't care less, didn't offer any assistance, and to top it off, the girl working the door, who looked way too strung out to have a front-line responsibility, gave us a difficult time coming back in after we made the official report to the police. Overall, the club's response was pretty unbelievable.
One of the problems is that the tables are tiny, and table service is really like stool service. The seating for tables is pretty much one long bench along the side of the wall and the tables are really wooden stools, so there is no separation and people are generally mingling at your table.
The club was just OK. Even if our stuff wasn't stolen it would still be mediocre. The interior was very poorly designed as there is NO room to dance, 2 step stairs everywhere (tons of people, no room and stairs = falling) and despite the renovation looks quite worn.
We went to Cain directly from Nikki Beach in midtown, which is more sophisticated, had better people for me, (I would have loved Cain when I was 22), a real table to dance on with space, and better music. I would recommend Nikki Beach to anyone. With Cain, I can see that it's a raging party, but it seems too sophomoric for my style.
AWESOME. haha denacolada i see you go on all the sites huh??!!?? what happen? the "atrocious" door girl wouldnt let you in?? this place rocks!! YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!!!
They should probably re-name this place Lame-Luxe or Caine-Sucks. Had heard great things. Went there tonight. Crowd was hipsters trying way too hard and old wrinkley trannies. Not really my scene. It smelled like a dumpster. The girl at the door was just about the most atrocious mess I've ever seen. I would really not waste your time. Oh and the drinks are weak and expensive. All around...pretty much was a waste of a night out.
1st time.
was there friday for my 1st time.... amazing.
will be back this thursday ...from what i hear they have something big going on... anyone else going?
bad.. Why why why do people fix things that aren't broken? Last time I was in this place, it didn't look like any other place I've seen. I used to send my friends and clients here. Nice decor, great music, whatever whatever whatever. Now it looks like a someone threw up all over it. Red everywhere. Don't worry though - for those of you who come for the attitude, that's still there. Just know that once you get in, you'll soon realize it's time to leave. Busted. thanks a lot.
The 5,000-square-foot West Chelsea hot spot formerly known as Cain gets a new look and a (slightly) new name..
The "luxe" version of the club's predecessor, Cain, still channels elements of South Africa, evident in the giant elephant tusks surrounding the pillars and the zebra print wrapping the DJ booth. You can also still count on a line out front, and a crowd composed of table service-type guys and girls ready to drop dollars to party in style. But a lot has changed in the transformative process, too. The placement of the DJ booth, for example, in the back of the club as opposed to in front is part of the lounge's revamped acoustic system. Also new is the scantily-clad dance troupe on staff, set to perform nightly.
Hits: The investment in overhauling the sound system represents money well spent, as the acoustics are far better than they were.
Misses: Cain Luxe's location on Club Row means you're bound to encounter hoards of club rats along 27th Street when you're coming and going.
Best Service in the City. This place is fantastic! Every time I set foot in the room, I'm treated like a VIP. The staff is friendly and professional and always attentive to my needs. I've recommended it to many of my friends, and they all feel the same. If you want to be a forgotten customer, there are a hundred other places to frequent, but this is NOT one of them.
