JC!. Great Stylist! I'm so happy to finally have someone I can trust and that does not need much direction. When you leave a Salon you want to look great and feel every dollar you spent was worth it. I not only felt great but looked it too! ALL I WANT TO SAY IS THANK YOU JC!…
Wont go anywhere else. I have been going to Panyc for years, following them from location to location... and now loving the new spot on 17th. In a non-descript typical Flatiron building, a stark yet comfortable salon awaits, you wouldnt know it as you take a tiny dingy elevator up. The staff is so accomodating, and all I can say is JC is AMAZING! I have had nightmares occur when I've needed to get a touch up for an upcoming event and pop into a salon that will take a walk-in, or when bridemaids hair goes horribly WRONG! I always run back to JC who manages to fix me right up! I cant say enough about these guys!!…
Seriously Good Hair. They aren't just going to do exactly what you say if it isn't going to be good. The cuts and color are always classy. JC is AMAZING. I always walk out happy, pretty and refreshed. Love these guys. True professionals.…
PAULINE = My favorite colorist EVER!. PAULINE is a senior colorist at PANYC and she does an amazing job! I live in the area and have been bouncing around from salon to salon; never really finding the right colorist...until now. I walked past PANYC several times and finally decided to give it a try. I chose PAULINE because she is a senior colorist and her prices are a bit lower than the master level. The consulation was top notch and the end result even better. She is such a sweet girl and really knows what she's doing. You can tell she's got lots of experience. I'VE FINALLY FOUND THE ONE!!!…
Really great find.
I'm from Seattle and have just these past two months started living in NYC. Haircuts are my one big splurge, even in my home town I'd pay 60$ for a cut and 120$ for a color! so I was hoping to find
a least similar prices in New York.
I found Panyc on Citysearch and called to see when they had an opening. He first offered a SAME DAY CUT for 90$, and when I asked if there was anything cheaper he offered a same day 75$ FOR A CUT. Perfect.
I headed over the slightly SKETCHY neighborhood and even more sketchy building where you have to ring up to have them let you in and then take a 3x3 foot elevator ride up to the fifth floor.
However as soon as I got up into the salon my confidence was restored. It's big and open, with lots of light and sparse, but eclectic decor.
There WEREN'T THAT MANY PEOPLE around, probably because it was a Wednesday afternoon, but the staff welcomed me right in.
I had a really relaxing shampoo and SIMON took me to the chair promptly at 4. What a sweet guy! He was really ATTENTIVE to what I asked for. I WANTED TO TAKE OFF A GOOD SIX INCHES so he really coached me through it and all the changes that might occur to my hair. He started snipping and after about 15 minutes I FELL ASLEEP! He didn't wake me up, he simply cradled my head and proceeded to give me great haircut. When I woke up he had very timidly took off length and said that if I decided I wanted it shorter later in the week I could get a trim for free. He's great and really gentle. I think I will go back and get it a little shorter, mainly just to hang out at the salon a little more! With a generous tip for Simon and the shampoo girl my total came to 95$.
Ignore the bad reviews, this place is great.…
