Exceptional Facial – Finding a good place for facials can turn into a nightmare; like looking for the right doctor. I settled for a place in Union Square; but advised by a friend, Serenity Spa topped my list. I was difficult to schedule an appointment (they might have a special going on) but fortunately I filled a no show appointment that evening. Giuly was polite, friendly and very aware of my old treatments (not very great). I was using the wrong moisturizing making my skin dryer than it already is. I purchased a Super rich cream from dermalogica. It does miracles. I haven’t seen a drastic change in my skin since I was eighteen years old. Amazing.
Excellent Facial, Friendly Staff – I've had facials before but have been afraid of extractions due to the horror stories. But after some convincing by Judy, I'm glad I had one. She was so good, I almost did not feel a thing ! And my face really glowed afterwards. She was also very friendly & professional. Same with the receptionist (too bad I did not get her name) , she was very friendly too.
Will definitely come back due to the very nice experience I had. I like feeling pampered. And mind you, I was holding a coupon. Really very professional staff.
The word is out. Serenity is great. – My girlfriend got an appointment for a GroupOn Facial for October since they extended their deadline. No one was rude the times a visited and called. Some people don't like to hear bad news and negotiate; instead they seemed to enjoy writing bad reviews due to this Spa being over-booked.
Last week I got a GroupOn Facial at Serenity Spa. They do a great job. I went for two different services on two different days and ... after being highly recommended by my girlfriends and boyfriend (who loves spas) I give them Thumbs Up!
Back on February, my girlfriend purchased three groupons for Serenity Spa and due to work; she couldn't use them all before they expire. I had gotten an awesome massage at Serenity days before, so as finding out she had two coupons left, I begged her for one. I called the spa and after realizing that they were booked I asked them to be on a waiting list ( for Sunday). Luckily I received a cancelation call on Sunday morning. My facial was outstanding by a lady called Nino. I even received testers for an exfoliant and moisturizer (I went back to purchase the exfoliant which I highly recommend, the Daily microfoliant from Dermalogica).
My girlfriend paid 50 bucks for the facial (and eye treatment) a $130 dollar package. In my receipt I saw a $25 Groupon charge and to my surprise I found out that Groupon charged Serenity Spa $25 for every facial. What a rip off. Thumbs Up Serenity for doing all these wonderful facials for 25 bucks
I love Serenity Spa – I am not a spa lover but Serenity Spa is a great place for my facials. Judy and Nino are my girls. When it comes to my face, I am all your Serenity.
Horrible experience - do not recommend – Long story short, I had the deep clean facial and left with a chunk of my skin from my nose scrapped off instead of my blackheads extracted. It eventually left a brown scar on my nose. The lady who did my facial was unprofessional - insulted my skin (saying it was too clogged and have to come more often) during the 50 min. session; which had already started. The receptionist there is also not friendly and is not attentive to customers; at least not to me. I'm not sure if it was because I came there with a purchase of a groupon or the fact that their quality of service is always that way (?). However, the only pros about this place i would say is their clean environment. Other than that, waste of money for unskilled "professionals" that leave you more stressed than before coming in.
Miss E. Park, you call us on July 6th, right before your second Group-On appointment at 4:30pm. You didn't have a print-out of your GroupOn. Unhappy that we couldn't print it out for you, complained about some issue (that you made up at the moment) about your previous Facial back on June 21st. Frustrated that you were going to miss your second appointment, you hung up on us.
If you had an issue with our Facial before, why did you make another appointment with us? Why didn't we hear from you right after? You didn't mention anything about your previous Facial during the call until you realized you couldn?t come without a Group-On printout. Back on June 21st you left very happy.
We have a long Group-On waiting list If you don't show up for your appointment (like you did on July 6th) you leave our esthetician with an empty hour.
At Serenity Spa, we?re always open to arrange for any inconvenience. You can still schedule your second Group-On appointment for the month of September
Found a place for facials – After reading some of their reviews I received a facial with Judy. She was excellent. "Oxygen Infusion" she suggested, after explaining in detail all the types of facials they offer.
I really recommend Serenity Spa to anyone who is wondering about a place to receive facials. It was highly recommended by clients at the spa while waiting for a manicure. Their statements about their facial experiences at Serenity convinced me to try it. I am in my thirties, about time to start my antiaging facials.
I will be coming back for their new Minx manicures as well; for now on this will be my place for skin care. Can't wait to try a massage ($75 great deal)
Message from Serenity Spa – At Serenity Spa we incourage customers to write reviews. We appreciate all your comments. Your opinions are very important to us.
have you heard of PRESSURE POINTS? – I had swedish massage and it was the worst massage ever!!! I wonder the aesthetician has ever even heard of pressure points. Basically she was just pushing my body. I couldn't believe I had to pay for any money for the horrible session. I went there to relax and it was actually STRESSFUL!!!!
The massage therapist (not the esthetician) followed the request for a Swedish Massage; not a DEEP TISSUE (pressure point) Massage which is more expensive for being a very strong massage. If you would have notified us of you dissatisfaction right after your service, we would have resolved this missunderstanding.
Horribble customer service – i have been going to Serenity off and on for 2 years. They generally do an ok job, but i have found that one manicurist does a much better job than the others. So, i made an appt with her for this past Sunday. I have very little time since i have a baby at home, so i was careful to be there on time. when i arrived, i was told it would be 5 min. After 10 min (and no apology) my manicurist began to give somebody a massage and that it would only be 10 min!!! no one apologized to me, they all just looked at me, so i left. i will never return. shocked by such poor treatment.
Hi. We appreciate your comment. We are investigating exactly how the situation was handled and why you were left waiting for 10 minutes after making an appointment. Please call us at 212-481-7898 and leave your numberr so the manager will contact you immediatelly This kind of issue should not happen at Serenity Spa. We apologize.
Great Place for nails and Facials – My roommates and I frequent Serenity Spa since our second year at FIT. Now, I live in the Upper East Side and still take a trip to get my spa treatments at Serenity. Their nail salon is neat but what i like the most: you get to do everything in one place: facials, waxing, nails, etc. They do an awesome job. They rock!
