The tallest, most modern structure on its Lower East Side block, this hotel attracts artsy celebrities, Europeans and rich hipsters. The guest rooms are 30 percent larger than average NYC hotel rooms. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow guests to look out onto the street while they bathe in two-person Japanese-style soaking tubs. Automatic curtains can be set to let sunlight in as the morning wake-up call goes off. In designer Piero Lissoni's second-floor airport-themed lounge, guests can relax with a drink and an international newspaper, while the first-floor lounge, bar and glass-encased…

Comfortable, Large rooms, fun neighborhood

by nprfan at Citysearch

My husband and I enjoy trying new NYC boutique hotels (not chains) and were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The room was much larger than the averaged sized NYC rooms, their beds were like tempurpedic mattresses and was a California king. They had down comforters and pillows. They offered simple, yet diverse breakfast was on the ground level. We didn't have a room with a city view, but didn't feel like we missed that. Perhaps next time when we return!

  • Pros: Comfortable beds, Large Rooms, Close to Subway.
  • Cons: No Ironing board in room.

Creatures and really loud club downstairs till 4AM

by CathyBarb at Citysearch

The walls are paper thin and the club downstairs vibrates loud beats till 4AM. The staff is rude and there are much better places to stay in the LES like the new Thompson hotel.

Dirty floors and things crawling around.

  • Pros: Could have been nice
  • Cons: We were woken up all night long with this thumping.

great time

by weiver at Citysearch

Loved this place, the location, the people at the hotel and the neighborhood scene. Best on the weekends, (the block comes alive at night). The lower East side was awesome, no longer scary. This is more of a funuxury hotel than true luxury. It is a bit edgy but we loved it and the steam shower was amazing.

  • Pros: great staff
  • Cons: none
