AWFUL SERVICE!!!. Living in Murray Hill, there are not too many places to buy fresh fish. I've been going to Wild Edibles for several years now, and have had issues with their customer service in the past, but after today, I will never go there again. I went to buy fish and the person behind the counter saw me enter. Another lady came in and cut in front of me, and he took care of her before me, even though he saw me enter first. Then he said "I'll be right with you" to me. He proceeded to take an order from a seated customer, clear a table, and give a check to another table while I waited, which was fine. Then he asked me what I wanted. I asked him how much a specific piece of salmon weighed and he took it out. After looking at it, it seemed too big to me, so I asked him about a different piece. Then he very rudely said, "Why don't you just tell me what size you want." I said one pound. He had already put a piece of paper on the scale and then said, "You know, I have other things I need to do so you'll have to wait." What a jerk!!!! I have no idea why he had such an attitude.

Looks like Fresh Direct will be getting our business from now on. And I plan to share this story with others in the neighborhood.

You'll Leave with a Full Belly and Money in Your Pocket. Wild Edibles is perfect if you could careless about the ambiance, but like good food. Reason I say that is because Wild Edibles is a fish market, that also serves as a restaurant. So you'll get florescent lighting and a line of tables and chairs, but you'll also get some of the freshest seafood in the city. I had the calamari there and found the spicy aioli sauce it is paired with to be excellent. While they were unfortunately out of scallops when I visited, they had a delicious softshell crab sandwich. I also ate the macadamia crusted mahi mahi which was great, but wasn't a fan of the quinoa salad served with it. Would have preferred a rice. Also, the salad had too many onions in it for my liking.

Fresh fish with a conscience. Must say food and wine were both excellent. A group of friends and I decided to drop in to this newer addition to the neighborhood. I would like to say welcome. We are happy to have a new food and wine(yes wine, they have a suprisingly nice list with both local winerys and many bio-dynamic winerys as well) destination that isn't a long haul away.

My Kind of Restaurant. I resent a restaurant asking me to indirectly pay for their chandeliers and for the staff's tuxedos. I have no problem paying for high quality food. There are no chandeliers or tuxedos at Wild Edibles. The atmosphere is casual and intimate. The service was excellent, the manager - Poli - was very accommodating, and the seafood was superb! And at a very reasonable price. My kind of place!

Extraordinary seafood market!. Their seafood was so awesome it practically drove my dinner guests "wild". Great selection and personal service. Their prepared foods are about the best I've had in the City.
