Tip hungry bastards. Ok, went in on thursday night with a drink with my girl and a few friends.pay for my beer and shot and have a plie of change infront of me,sitting at the bar talking to people and turn back towards the front and the cash is all gone????? Who said this was my tip?? Isn't it up to me what I wanna tip? You don't just steal money from infront of someone!!! Any way you won't see me again. Ever ever!
Will Never Go Back!. The bartenders here are awful. I would never ever give this place another nickel. The two bartenders at the back bar (one named Amelia) that waited on me and my friends (or should i say refused to wait on us!!) were so immature and rude. There are a million great bars in Murray Hill and East Village. Steer clear of Whiskey River!
lame. bartenders are really bitchy and atmosphere is lame. feels like a bad frat party.
Worst Bar in Murray Hill.
This bar gives Murray Hill a bad name.
The people and bartenders there are rude and obnoxious.
One bar server intentionally poured a beer on my friend and didn't apologize meanwhile we tried to get napkins from the bartender who was too busy snatching money out of people's hands to help us out.
One bartender Amelia was even yelling at my friends telling them they better tip her a lot or they should leave.
My friends and I will never go back after that night!
kinda shady.
Walked into this bar with a buddy on a Saturday night...the crowd just seemed very young. And by young, I mean under 21. The patrons seemed to be having a good time (and very drunk) with several beer pong tables seeing action, and the staff seemed friendly enough. But the age group seemed a bit off. Almost felt like we were walking into a high school or college freshman house party.
But if that's your scene, then I'm sure you'll enjoy.
Always a Good Time at Whiskey River!!.
My friends and I go to Whiskey River all the time and we always have a great time! We've definitely become "Regulars." There's always something going on here since they have 3 beer pong tables, old school arcade games, BuckHunter and Megatouch and the Wii set up all the time. Not to mention I'm a big fan of their jukebox selection!
The only drawback is that they don't have food, so eat before you go here. However, if you're hungry while your there they do have menus for you to order food right to the bar, which is pretty cool.
Something for everyone. This is my first time writing a review-- mainly because I don't do this sort of thing...but I really enjoyed this place! I recently had my birthday party there and had an amazing experience. I reserved the back room-- The staff was so amazing, friendly and very accommodating and eager to please-- I was thrilled. I was looking for something where all of my friends could be comfortable and just have a good, chill time. I had gone there on St. Pats and also had fun, but wasn't sure if a normal Saturday night would be as good, but it was. Crowded, but you could move. Not trendy, but great atmosphere. ...I am a big fan!
User review by catherineh. Whiskey River has it all..outgoing bartenders, beer pong, a patio and a warm atmosphere.
User review by kjbarstar. I go there pretty often on weekdays, or when i have a day off. It has a really great back sunroom and a little patio. it feels like your in your friend's den or something, very relaxed. the bartenders are always sweet and chatty. I just think its a great spot, especially for a late afternoon buzz!
User review by sarahvt07. Head there weekly, generally - usually for the $10 all-you-can drink draft from 9p-midnight on Wednesday nights. Good place to relax, hangout, and chill. Plus is that its not too crowded, which is always nice. The bartender is super nice and pretty quick with the service too.
