Great sandwiches!. Some of the best sandwiches in town! Most are vegan but have the option of real cheese! Definitely a lunch cafe!

Good Place for Lunch. I had the Soyvlaki today for lunch and took it to go. By the time I got back to the office, the grease from my sandwich had soaked half the paper bag. I've never seen reagular meat souvaki's this greasy but i'm willing to look past this since the sandwich tasted pretty good. I'm sure their other sandwiches are better so i plan to go back again soon.

Best panini place. S'nice is a charming place in the west village with the best paninis EVER. In the mood for a hands-down delicious pressed sandiwch (they're huge, I often save the other half for dinner), I recommend the tri-color panini with gorgonzola, the melted fontina and sundried tomato pesto, or the grilled veggie one. You can't go wrong. It's also a nice eatery for those stressed out days at work and you're looking for a semi-quiet lunch break - pull up a chair, a magazine, zone out. The staff is very friendly - think earthy granola hipsters.

Get thee to the Best Sandwich Shop in the Damn City!. I LOVE this place. The staff is friendly and lively, the crowd is young and political, and the food is to die for. I am addicted to the vegan panini -- not because I'm vegan (I'm not even vegetarian) but because it is so delicious. Their pesto is better than anywhere else in the city. S'Nice is a great place to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon, or just to stop by for a quick bite. The only thing I'd change: when you get your sandwich to go you don't get a comp salad. And the comp salads are so good, you really feel like you're missing out...

Best tofu and best casual environment. I have always been a S'nice fan and was so excited to go back last week for a visit after my office moved away from the neighborhood. Prior to that I had breakfast and lunch there every day. When I went to CitySearch to look up the phone number, I was shocked to see reviews of rude people and bad servers - this is simply as far from the truth as possible. These are the people who always, always gave me super healthy portions with a smile and always took my pickup order so politely and I just loved everything about this restaurant - and still do - the FOOD is incredible, the environment could not be cozier and the people who work there are lovely so forget anything anyone has to say that is ugly about S'nice - this place is a GEM!!

Everything's nice except the service...well, usually. I work a couple of blocks away where most of my co-workers are vegetarians. The food is tasty and a little expensive by sandwiches and salad standards - but keep in mind, it's NYC. We don't go there much because the staff IS pretty rude most of the times, not always, so you never know what kind of treatment you'll receive. I called in an order one time and they hung up on me because the order was taking to long and they were busy. Another time an employee told us that they didn't have time to tell us what was in a sandwich because he was in a rush and hung up on us. Sometimes we got lucky and got our order without problems. In general, the food is good and it's vegetarian, the seating area is comfortable and the music is usually good. It's easy to lose time with a computer so I agree with the seating arrangements since it tends to get crowded and they need seats for different customers. Sitting at the large tables is just fine when you and those sitting with you are pretty much focused on the computer screen. My co-workers, friends and I still go there but sometimes it takes time for us to make that decision and sometimes we don't care. I still recommend it but hope they'll improve their service.

S'more than s'nice, s'wonderful. I love this place, primarily because the city has a shortage of vegan-friendly restuarants I can feel comfortable going to alone when I'm out running errands or shopping. It's just less awkward (and pricey) to go somewhere where you just order and seat yourself. My meat-eater boyfriend is also fond of it. My favorites are the reuben sandwich and the vegan cupcakes. The sides of roasted broccoli ae also delicious. I'd say the prcies are pretty normal for the city, $7 for a wrap or sandwich, which somes with a little side salad of good greens and sliced carrots. Though the milk-less shakes are a bit pricey at $5, the mocha espresso shake is still and irristible to-go item on a hot day.

Snice of heaven (sorry). I was surprised by all the bad reviews I've read. I've been here for lunch three or four times, and had a good experience every time. There's plenty of seating, a sizeable veggie food menu, and I didn't think the staff were rude (or "surly") at all. At least once, an employee brought my food to my table with a smile and extra napkins. :) (I think to expect more than a glare and your change back in this city is a little ridiculous anyway, but that's another story).

Prices could be better, but they're average for the location and fare, they've got to pay the (no doubt insane) rent, and I'm happy to support veggie establishments.

I only wish they were open in the evenings. :

Try the vegetarian souvlaki - it's delish!

Would you like some nastiness with that order?. Well once again, what was once the sweet west village has been taken over by post-corporate sell outs attempting to run a business. Food is sugary and fat-laden, staff are insecure by the beautiful people (ie. rude) and as noted no outlets. Unfortunately the crowds are no better. What a waste of a once neighborhoody lumber spot. I say turn it into a citibank...

Why does Citysearch allow these retards to write reviews?. In response to the last review: I make the oatmeal every morning. I pour it from a boiling saucepan into a steaming cauldron that has a lid on it for the rest of the day. Explain to me, Larry123, how a rodent could possibly take a dump in there while I'm doing that? ps, we just passed our last health inspection on Jan. 19th (as well as every inspection we have ever had), with no evidence of vermin.
