“Good value”
I love it here. I found this bar while searching online for somewhere new to go. I came with a bunch of friends and we were all really happy with this place. The bartender was super nice and was pouring all of us ridiculously awesome and strong drinks. We were so happy with the service that we all stayed for dinner. Great night, great bar. We will definitely be back.
Below Average. I went to happy hour at Banc Cafe with three friends one night not too long ago. Sitting outside on a nice day was great but the drinks were not well made. I ordered a margarita on the rocks and it was disgusting. I actually had to send it back, it was so unpalatable. Their signature cocktails are full of syrups and were not much better. We tried a sampling of appetizers and they were just OK. With so many great outdoor seating areas in the city, I'm not sure why this one is still popular.
its a nice bar. This is a great bar. I have had lovely meals and good wine here, also there is always a buzzing atmosphere. The staff are freindly and professional. The best bar in the area in my openion.
Quesadilla's. Have hung out here a few times and i love the place! It has a very relaxed atmosphere but our server was on top of everything! We like to go to Banc after work and just grab food & a couple of drinks. Def recommend the food, especially the Quesadilla's!
trendy and cozy. Having good food sitting on sidewalk was very nice. Oysters were really fresh for summertime! Place have class yet little snobish. Gotta get more space to flourish considering hot location.
Nice Addition To Neighborhood...... Banc is modern, cool and yet still remains a homey. It's a nicer, upscale departure from the crowded, standardized bars/ restaurants on 3ave (read Joshua Tree). The food is american, they have a sports bar. Food is pretty good. I had the French onion soup which was surprisingly good and a salad which was equally good. It's a very mixed crowd. Prices are slightly higher than at other places but, you get what you pay for. They have a seperate bar menu which seems to make it a nice place for couples to hang out, eat a little and watch the games at.
avoid having your birthday here!. someone call al sharpton! i had my 30th birthday there. my two professional friends came to meet me there and were turned away by the bouncers because they looked "to urban." i wanted specifics as to what that meant; was it my friends timberlands or his afro? all the bouncer had to say was talk to the manager. he wouldn't get into it. the manager came opened the door--Prentended to look at who was outside. she had the door open for a half of second. then said she couldn't do it. the funniest part was that we had called prior reserving tables and no one mentioned a dress code. my friends had to leave and all i can say is that the management of this place is disgusting. if you have different enthnicities of friends don't plan your birthday party there because they won't get in!! i love you g!!
Never lets you down. Always a good place to start off the night. The food is good the atmosphere good. Never lets you dwn.
Attentive staff, unfriendly patrons. I guess we should have expected it. On Third Avenue, with a name like THE BANC. Lots of suits and ties. The ties pulled slightly open, the white shirts unbuttoned at the collar. The crowd plenty white. The place was packed at 9:30 and people kept coming. More and more. We didn't see anyone leave! There was a DJ, but the music was played at a talkable volume. Although we had to wait about 1/2 an hour for a table, the staff was really accommodating: keeping on eye on a table for us, rearranging the furniture to make more room, making sure we knew they were trying. Finally we were seated at a great table by the open windows. A waitress was prompt in taking our orders, and came back frequently to make sure everything was okay. They did their best and deserve an A. Unfortunately the rest of the crowd was as friendly as a wolfman during the full moon. NO ONE came over to talk to us. No one even smiled at us. Maybe because we weren't wearing suits. Maybe because we had only one pretty girl with us, and she was obviously "taken." I don't know. But the place reeked of in-crowd (off-work Muppies) and out-crowd (the rest of us). I guess you have to be in before you earn a smile. --Drink Club is a roving group of NYC drinkers
Great Week Night Spot. Great experience at this place, went on a Tuesday, but had a ton of fun. Our waitress was great, along with the bartender. The lady at the neighboring table was as loud as ever and could not stop talking about herself but the staff was great in recognizing her abruptness and did everything they could to make it a great experience. Also great food and strong drinks, fun place to have dinner with your friends, great interior design with lighting that sets the mood, PERFECT for A DATE NIGHT!!!
