Here at Ancora, we offer more than just an Italian meal, we offer a traditional Italian dining experience. From our Northern Italian dishes to our unbelievable service, we truly are what all Italian restaurants should be. We have a great decor, a great menu, and an extensive wine list. Ancora is a whole New York experience. Ancora is not just a good restaurant with good food, it is a New York experience even for us NY locals. Upscale but not stuffy or formal. Ancora is worth the price you pay - from the complimentary appetizers, to the custom prepared dishes and impeccable service. I frequent Ancora a few times a month because you are treated like a king and they will make you anything you request. Do not go if you are looking for a cheap meal - go if you want a New York experience with great food to boot.

Fantastic food & service!. I went a few weeks back on business lunch, an AWESOME restaurant. Going back today. It's a pricey place, but what a treat this place is.

Avoid at all times..
These people know how to rip you off. Make sure you ask how much are the specials before you order them. Typically they will cost you 2-3 times more than the most expensive items on a menu.
And don?t expect a great quality for your money. The quality of food is worse than in the most Italian restaurants in a city.

Superb Experience.
I'm not one to write reviews - but after having such an incredible experience - I had to.
From the moment we were greated at the door (we had called ahead) and they knew it was us - somehow- when we walked in.
The warmth of the staff and the restaurant could be felt during the entire meal. We went as a family (including young children) and even the hardest to please was thrilled with the willingness to create whatever they wanted. Suggestions on what / how to order were not an effort to sell us food / but to insure a great dining experience. From start to finish (and we didn't want to leave) it was superb.
The only downside -- we have a regular favorite Italian restaurant and now feel guilty that this has replaced it in some ways. You won't be disappointed.

DONT BOTHER. Went there twice and both times was a failure. Very Pricy and the portions were very small... The waiter tells you what to eat. You dont have a choice.. very pushy. Would never go back there again

An Italian Restaurant the way it should be.. if anyone likes Real Italian Food in a Real Italian Restaurant, This is the place to go. Its a little pricy but hell this is NY, you get what you pay for. I took my girlfriend here recently for a romantic dinner after work. The service was unbelievable. My glass never was empty. Water was constantly refilled and so was my wine. I never had to ask the waiter for anything, he asked me before I had the chance to look for him. And the food, Forget about it! I had Penne ala Vodka that was absolutely outrageous. My girl had Chicken Parmesan which she didnt shut up about the whole night, and she finds things wrong with everything. i definately reccommend this place to anyone who appreciates unbelievable food and unbelievable service.
