Terrible. If this is Antica Venezia, then they're referring to a neighborhood by a mall in deepest hickville. We went here for a special dinner based on the reviews, and now we think the reviews must have been posted by restaurant owners and family. There's no other way you could pay this much for such bad food. It started with the drinks at the bar when they brought out the cheapest crappiest grapefruit juice can for my grey goose greyhound. When does my flight land? The amuse-geule was then served with a flourish and consisted of a hunk or two of some so-so tasting parmesan accompanied with plain BLACK CANNED MACHINE-PITTED OLIVES. Seriously? I'll skip the inoffensive yet utterly forgettable appetizer, and move straight to the hilarious mains. Whatever you do, DO NOT GO NEAR the RISOTTO. By some wild stretch of the imagination the "chef" at this place thought the delicate flavor of porcini mushrooms, calamari, and truffle oil would somehow be helped by the addition of a CHEF-BOY-AR-DEE style red sauce. Since they seemed to be serving a lot of the flambeed orata I figured that was reasonably safe. While it turned out to be less offensive than the risotto, it was an Olive-Garden-level dish and should have cost no more than $15. Certainly not the $35 they were charging for it. We skipped what would probably have been a mediocre tiramisu and got the check. 2 cocktails, 1 shared appetizer, 2 entrees, and 2 bottom shelf glasses of wine came to $150. I know some lovely little restaurants right around the corner in the village that would have cost half for the same amount of food and better quality, and I'm so sad we didn't go to those. Be warned.

Pros: none

Cons: overbearing service, cheap ingredients, culinary knowledge of a tadpole, airport decor, expensive

As a foodie in the city I have seen my fair share of good restaurants, though this retaurant is a rare. With attentive staff that are eager to please, excellent food selections, and reasonable prices, this restaurant is one of a kind in NYC.

Pros: Attentive service, comfortable dining atmosphere

Cons: Location is out of the way
