“Yes it was loud, but that didn't bother us- we weren't there for a quiet/romantic dinner- this place is something like a sports restaurant (since they have two big plasma screens (muted) and lots of sports memorbilias on the walls to look at. )”
“Bread was old, salads were soggy, overpriced wines, etc, but desert was superb and prices were cheap.”

Try the best Argentina has to offer in New York!.
I came with a group of friends for a late evening birthday celebration. The service was excellent and most importantly, the meat was delicious.
I definitely recommend this restaurant. It is a special treat to anyone who loves soccer and is a fan of Boca Juniors.
Boca's tops to this gringo. I have been to eat many times at Boca Juniors. And have always found the food to be the best South American food in the city bar none.... The skirt steak & empnadas are as if you were sitting in Buenos Aires at a sidewalk cafe enjoying lunch or dinner. Their sangria is by far the best I've ever had & the service is outstanding. Friendly atmosphere..........
NO THIS PLACE IS THE BEST. I'm not sure about the last comment but both times i went to this restaurant, the service was great. The food was extraordinary. The place is decked out for fans, but fan or not..the food is the main part that is amazing. I love Argentinian food and this was the best place I've ate at so far.
The worst restaurant of New York!!!.
I am from Germany and I visited New York in February 2009. At the last day of our trip, we
decided to go to the Boca Juniors Steakhouse, because our hotel was next to the restaurant.
I would be happy, if we had decided not to!
The food was so bad: On our Mix-Grilled-Plate we found only fat sausages, which were very,
very old. There was no beef. Only old and hard sausage and a very small piece of pork.
The waiter was absolutety unfriendly. We got the wrong food (spanish
omlet for 14$ instead of spanish potatoes for 4$) but the waiter didnt take it back.
The waiter wrote 18% tip on the bill, without asking! This is discusting!
The restaurant was very empty, and now I know why. If they keep on doing like this,
they will have to close soon.. very soon!
Never Again!. This place was noisy, dirty and the food was of very poor quality. Every 5 minutes they would blast some song for a few minutes which was funny at first but became annoying as it kept happing throughout the dinner. The food was not good; the meat especially was of poor quality and the olvie oil tasted spoiled. To top it all off the whole staff had a bad attitude.
I was expecting more. The food wasn't bad. The chorizo appetizers were a bit dry, the bife de chorizo was good, a little greasy. Definitely more expensive than it should be (Manhattan prices in Elmhurst). the prices were way too expensive and not much of a selection. The service wasn't as bad as many other people who posted. DO NOT PARK in the next door diner parlking lot as you will get it towed (it happened to us last night)
LOVE IT. i've been to BOca Juniors many times... I love the restautant its the best aregninean restaurant in NYC. I took my bf on his bday and he loved it.. Im taking my dad today for his bday.. I really enjoy taking my firneds and family there because i know they are gonna love it.. especially if they like meat.. The best thing is the sport atmosphere which my bf and dad love. I recomend this place to those that love sports specially soccer. By the way im not argentinian, iam colombian and i lova BJ
I am not going back again. Finally tried Boca Junior's after passing by so many times and was truly disappointed. The waiter was very friendly when we sat down, but once we gave our order - we never saw him again. Every table received bread and butter except ours. We had to ask for refills on our beverage and once I had my steak, I had to ask for the chimichurri sauce that would normally come with a skirt steak. Our waiter spent most of his time at the table next to ours and the difference in service was undeniable. I would not complain about the food but if you want good Argentinian cuisine, go to Jackson Heights. My friend and I will definitely not return to Boca Junior's when there is a wide selection of better restaurants in Queens.
Decent place, horrible service. I pass this place every Sunday on my way to church so I decided to try it one Sunday after chruch. I went this past Sunday and there happened to be a Boca Junior game on (Boca Junior is the name of an Argentinian soccor team) and the place was packed. The atmosphere was very lively and there was a lot of cheering so I rate it excellent. The food is above average but the price was a little high for the area. The service I would rates a poor though. It was a very slow but that was understandable with the packed house. However, I found it hard to believe that they serve lobster but don't have the tools for me to break the shell. Lastly, when I was leaving after I paid, the waiter chased me out the door claiming I didn't pay 15% tip. I paid more than 15% and he just did his math wrong. After I pointed that out to him, he just said "oh", turned around and went back in. I found it so rude that he actually chased me down and even ruder that he did not apologize for his mistake. I am never going back.
Come Eat & Be Merry @ Boca's.
My cousins and I frequently visit Boca's. We absolutely love every aspect of it. The food, the ambience, the service, the price and um, did I say the food? IF you're lookin' to eat while have a merry time, then come to Boca's.
Favorite dishes I recommend are the Skirt Steak or even a bowl of pasta, finish it off with a pitcher of Sangria and you're ready to schedule the next visit.
