Worst Experience Ever. This place is horrible. I ordered some drinks for me an a friend and spend the time listening to him vent about work while he nurses his drink. Being I'm looking after my friend I finish my drinks and let him nurse his for the rest of the night. He finally orders another round for us after being there close to an hour so I figure, hey easy night, he's done and we've had 4 drinks total. When I go to pay the bill the bartender charges us two extra drinks. I bring it to her attention and she caused a scene. I'm an older guy and didn't feel like getting into it with the anxious bouncers and my friend was completely done, being he's a two drink wonder, so I payed for the error. I was saddened by the lack of responsibility the young lady took for her mistake. The staff need to be more competent and less critical of their shortcomings. I've never seen such arrogance over a simple arithmetic error.

Great Bar Food!!!. I love this place! Been going here for years, bartenders change, chef changes, but the food is always great!! Best Bar Food in NY!! Lunch is great!! They have drinks specials!! WooHoo!!

redemption-restoring my faith in mankind!. a few nights ago i went into redemption with some friends, it would be an understatement if i say i "got a bit drunk." i ended up leaving my purse (phone, wallet, credit cards, money, camera, etc..) at the bar when we left. in the frantic search to retrace my steps from the night before to try and relocate it, a call to redemption settled my worries. they had my purse!! when i went to retrieve it, i could not believe EVERYTHING was still in there. not a dime stolen...the girl who brought the purse to me said a bus boy turned it in. i cant imagine this happening often, usually i am not so lucky. but thank god for the staff at redemption for being beyond helpful in finding, holding, and returning my purse for me!! life savers!!

Great People Great Food Great Tme!. This bar is always a fun place to be, with the friendly employees and great music always playing, Its never overwhelming or abnoxious. I love coming here with friends or a boy :) The hummus and spniach dip is my favorite, but the food is suprisingly aweome for a bar. Plus the fun cocktails and sweet happy hour specials are affordable, I would deff recommend hanging out at redemption

Great Brunch.
I love coming to Redemption for Brunch. They have a great menu and a great brunch deal. $20 with 2 mimosas!
I have never had to wait long to get a table and the service is always great.
I also have come in after work for the happy hour. The bar is always full. There are usually more men than women which is always a plus for me. Even when the bar is crazy, the waitress and bartenders still get drinks in an efficient manner. Plus the cocktails never taste watered down.
Bottom line is; its a great after work bar, with the bonus of having an excellent brunch!

Great go to place when you're unsure of where to go.... I really love redemption and they have never let me down. It's the bar I always go to or take my friend's to when we can't figure out where to go. It's a cute bar, not dingy. Nice looking crowd but not uncomfortably posh/trendy. The staff is always nice, no cover and there is never a dumb line to get it, though sometimes it does get too crowded. I have never eaten the food there but the drinks are made well. The best thing about this place is the great music. They always have a great mix going and while there isn't really a dance floor, people are usually dancing.

Consistently Stellar.
After living on the East Side of Manhattan for 3 years now, Redemption has never once disappointed me. I used to live in the neighborhood of Turtle Bay, but even after I moved to the UES I continue to come back to Redemption. The atmosphere is classy and sophisticated, but the drinks are not over priced. Plus, their weekly specials are crazy good deals. I've also taken clients to dinner there and we always rave about the food - SO much better than dingy bar food!
And if it's not the prices or food or atmosphere that you're worried about, ladies I urge you to come check out the MENNNNN. I've never stood at the bar for more than 5 min without a guy offering to buy me a drink. But the guys are never sleezy like in other places - it's all respectable Manhattan businessmen and locals. I've met several of my boyfriends at redemption ;) OH! And I threw my best friend's surprise birthday party there last year in their private White Room - she absolutely loved it. I was able to purchase trays of food ahead of time, and they didn't even charge me to rent the room! It's rare to find a bar in this city that is CONSISTENTLY STELLAR, which is why I'm such a fan :)
