“This is a great value, specially in the Meat Packing District.”
“The food was honestly the worst all 8 of us have had in NYC in a long time.”
Worst restaurant experience.
Worst customer service ever!
I went here for a friend's birthday brunch and waited 3 hours for our food to arrive. Actually, it never really arrived. What they provided was burnt steak and overdone eggs that we swiftly sent back.
We repeatedly asked for the manager who never came out.
After hours of waiting, we finally got up and left. No one ever said sorry or called to apologize.
By far the worst restaurant experience I've had.
Lunch with a Movie?.
This place is in the trendy and beautiful people haven of the Meatpacking District but it is awesome AND is also known to be a haven for celebrity spotting. Nero D' Avola is not just a pretty Italian eatery with "decent" food- The food is exceptional, the bar is impressionable with its selections of spirits. Signature/ bartender creations are creative and WILL SNEAK UP ON YOU!!!! (If lucky you'll have the bar attended by Oliver, part Manager of Nero D' Avola and my buddy :*)). Oh & I failed to mention that you will get to view 40's & 50's circa movies, as they are shown on the projection exposed brick wall, which is Nero's trademark.
I had my birthday party brunch at Nero D' Avola, which had exceptional attendance to my large party on their most busiest of days Sunday, so I say with applause and confidence that this is a great eatery.
Must have: Chocolate filled pancakes, to DIE for!!!!
Be watchful of: Fine print on the brunch menu...
Enjoi!!!!
One of the best Sunday brunch places in town!. I have been three times and will be back. You have to know what you are in for - this isnt a quiet, simple Sunday brunch where you have coffee and read NY Times. My friends and I have dubbed it 'club brunch' - it is loud, great music, great food and high energy! Plus the unlimited drinks for the $29 price make it a great deal. I havent been for dinner on a regular night but will check it out. if you have out of town guests - take them - but be prepared! this aint your average Sunday brunch...and isnt for everyone. but it is a lot of fun!
nightmare. Wow! Music was so loud the restaurant received a noice complaint from the neighbors while we were there. we asked more than once for them to turn it down but they were rude and said if you don't like it you can leave. we did.
Really, Nero? How about ZERO.. Nothing can fully describe the ARROGANCE that I witnessed last Sunday. A simple request to turn the music down a notch or two - just to hear the person next to me - (and the request didn't come from just me or my table - but the surrounding tables as well) was answered with a FLIPPANT and APATHETIC "No" and MOCKING from the staff and djs. If we weren't decent people we would have stiffed them on the bill. Don't bother with your time or money here.
This place is TERRIBLE!.
We just HATED our brunch at this place! The other reviewers are right: We had to yell to one another to even be heard at this place. They really ought to add Excedrin to their menu!
In addition it was hot and stuffy and the staff was SO RUDE. I can't remember what we ate--we were so in a hurry to get out of there.
Whatever you do, skip this place. There are SO many better choices very nearby. I'm still bitter we wated our time on this lousy restaurant.
If you're looking for Euro-Trash you've found it at Nero!.
If you would like to be assaulted in the eardrum by high volume electro dance trash while eating brunch then this is your place. There was a hair in my omelette and even though you get unlimited drinks which you will need to calm down the rage that starts to grow along with a migraine when you're having to scream a conversation to a friend sitting next to you. We asked management several times to turn down the music but they refused or would say they could not, I'm not sure how it is not possible to turn down music or how management could not give a care about the needs and wants of the customer.
Then to add insult to injury in 86+ degree weather they closed the windows not to turn on the AC but so they would not receive a noise violation due to the atrociously loud and terrible music the brunch dj spun. BTW what kind of DJ only books brunches..lame!
On the whole it was a very unpleasant experience and I still have a headache from it all - 8 hours later! I will never go back and I would never recommend it and if you love yourself on any level especially your eardrums and vocal chords you will avoid this place like the swine flu filled dirt hole that it is.
poor service, surprise guests. Beyond the obnoxious staff, I saw a rodent run through the restaurant during brunch. My cocktail was served in a glass with chipped edges. We asked if the music could be turned down and were refused. I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy.
Reservations don't mean much in Manhattan anymore. We had a 9pm reservation at Nero for Saturday night. Granted, it's Saturday night, and to seat 5 can be tough, but we waited a good 20 minutes for the table even though 2 other tables seemed to have come up. I stepped outside for some air not 3 minutes after first checking in and the hosted told me to have a nice night - clearly they don't pay much attention. After being seated, the staff was great. Very NYC see and be seen kind of spot with lots of groups there for dinner before hitting up bars. Though I was not impressed by the wine or food selection, it was prepared well. My friends all said "best Italian they've had in years". I didn't care for my meal but I'll chalk it up to my overall frustration from waiting. In short, don't go hear before a show, but a great place for a romantic dinner or for a group of good friends out for the night.
Great brunch!. I'm very surprised by the last review- I came here for brunch and had a wonderful time. The service was so friendly I stopped to let the manager know how pleased I was on my way out. Everything was delicious- I had the eggs benedict and a fruit salad. To top it off all you can drink mimosas/bellinis for just $20! And they were not stingy with them in the least- every time my glass was almost empty before I could even ask it was filled again, to the point where I had to tell them no more b/c I had to work after. haha. I can't wait for the warm weather so I can have this enjoyable experience in their outdoor area!
