  1. found this newcomer and got great pasta and lamb - great crowd - really cool music and vibe - near to all.
  2. good food, free drinks
  3. He made our meal of arugula salad and Barramundi even more delicious than it was.
  4. In fact, if you don't have good service then the food alone is almost almost never worth it.
  5. Started of with some nice wine and then some great bread and olive oil.
  6. Despite what the price may suggest, the food was very good (not the greasy stuff some may call a typical brunch).
  7. Good food, little overpriced, samll portions.
  8. The food, wine, dessert, atmosphere were all amazing.
  9. Great food, great decor and a great environment right in the center of the meatpacking district.
  10. also expected the usual snooty attitude that usually gets served up with the meal in the newest trendy areas of the city.
  11. The food was honestly the worst all 8 of us have had in NYC in a long time.
  12. The food was perhaps the worst I've had in the city.

  11. Beyond the obnoxious staff, I saw a rodent run through the restaurant during brunch.
  12. I've been to a plethera of places in this area where the air is full snobbery, and the waiters stick up their noses wondering whether or not you're worthy of eating there.
  13. The service was good, and the space was nicely lit--a great place to have a bottle of wine.

Worst restaurant experience

by nyccristina

Worst customer service ever!

I went here for a friend's birthday brunch and waited 3 hours for our food to arrive. Actually, it never really arrived. What they provided was burnt steak and overdone eggs that we swiftly sent back.

We repeatedly asked for the manager who never came out.

After hours of waiting, we finally got up and left. No one ever said sorry or called to apologize.

By far the worst restaurant experience I've had.

Lunch with a Movie?

by Yasmine Deetjen , Citysearch Contributor

This place is in the trendy and beautiful people haven of the Meatpacking District but it is awesome AND is also known to be a haven for celebrity spotting. Nero D' Avola is not just a pretty Italian eatery with "decent" food- The food is exceptional, the bar is impressionable with its selections of spirits. Signature/ bartender creations are creative and WILL SNEAK UP ON YOU!!!! (If lucky you'll have the bar attended by Oliver, part Manager of Nero D' Avola and my buddy :*)). Oh & I failed to mention that you will get to view 40's & 50's circa movies, as they are shown on the projection exposed brick wall, which is Nero's trademark.

I had my birthday party brunch at Nero D' Avola, which had exceptional attendance to my large party on their most busiest of days Sunday, so I say with applause and confidence that this is a great eatery.

Must have: Chocolate filled pancakes, to DIE for!!!!

Be watchful of: Fine print on the brunch menu...

Enjoi!!!!

  • Pros: Great pancakes and drinks- magnificent
  • Cons: Long wait for Brunch on Sunday arrive EARLY

One of the best Sunday brunch places in town!

by bfnyc212

I have been three times and will be back. You have to know what you are in for - this isnt a quiet, simple Sunday brunch where you have coffee and read NY Times. My friends and I have dubbed it 'club brunch' - it is loud, great music, great food and high energy! Plus the unlimited drinks for the $29 price make it a great deal. I havent been for dinner on a regular night but will check it out. if you have out of town guests - take them - but be prepared! this aint your average Sunday brunch...and isnt for everyone. but it is a lot of fun!

  • Pros: great food, select unlimited drinks, friendly staff
  • Cons: wait for a table

Wow! Music was so loud the restaurant received a noice complaint from the neighbors while we were there. we asked more than once for them to turn it down but they were rude and said if you don't like it you can leave. we did.

  • Pros: unlimited drinks at brunch
  • Cons: LOUD music, rude management

Really, Nero? How about ZERO.

by funkylala1

Nothing can fully describe the ARROGANCE that I witnessed last Sunday. A simple request to turn the music down a notch or two - just to hear the person next to me - (and the request didn't come from just me or my table - but the surrounding tables as well) was answered with a FLIPPANT and APATHETIC "No" and MOCKING from the staff and djs. If we weren't decent people we would have stiffed them on the bill. Don't bother with your time or money here.

  • Pros: At best location
  • Cons: the Manager, DJs and Staff. Food - average
