Best Fade Hair Cut in NYC. I recently moved back to NYC (again) and I have only had one barber for the past 10yrs which happens to live in Miami. Although it sounds extremely tempting right about now in this snowy mess its just is not practical to fly down to Miami for a haircut. I trusted her implicitly so the search to find a suitable replacement has been a major obstacle. So last night I tried out this place City Life Barbers on 9th Avenue. My coworker recommended it so we both went to get our hair cuts. I walked in the place was really nice, clean and the guys were friendly. I have had my fair share of disappointing hair cuts in NYC so I had zero expectations. He listened to me and gave me the best fade I could have asked for. I am super psyched that I have finally found my go to barber and can breathe a sigh of relief that I don't have to endure another bad haircut again.
UNBEATABLE SERVICE AND SKILLS. Wowwww whitout a doubt this is the best haircut I've ever had..I've already returned for the 6th time, and its perfectly perfect every time..I've tried all of the barbers, but there is one who is the best, he's the tall barber there and without a shadow of a doubt, he is the most popular barber in Chelsea!! Ask for Mike...there are 2 Mikes there and its a huge difference.. Make sure u get your cut from the tall Mike on the 3rd chair.. I've already sent my boyfriend there! tell him peter sent u
$55.00 haircut. Had the opportunity to visit this shop on a quiet Sunday near closing time. As in the past reviews, the shop was nicely set up & clean. Nice flat screen. Barber said he just started there last week. Friendly enough but I'm in the industry and was astounded when I checked out and was told my tab was $55.00. I got a haircut and my beard shaped up. My friend got a haircut for $25.00 just minutues earlier. The beard shape up certainly coudln't have been & wasn't worth $30.00. Only the receptionist and the barber that cut my hair were left in the shop to close, maybe they got creative with the price list?? Have to say I wouldn't step foot in the shop again and wouldn't recommend it. If you do venture in make sure to ASK THE PRICE before. What is they say, BUYER BEWARE!!!!!
Straight Razor Shaving
Hot Lather Shaves
Eucalyptus Towels + Flat Screens
Great place to get edged up with fair pricing.
excellent!. This place is great. Travel up from Philly just to get my haircut by these guys. Four cuts by three different barbers, and they were all excellent. Highly recommended.
An upscale experience at an affordable price.
I stumbled in to City Life for a last minute trim, and was greeted by a movie on the flatscreen and the friendliest staff in NYC. A traditional chop shop with old fashioned service like Eucalyptis towels and the hot foam neck shave make this the ideal place to nurse that weekend hangover!
I love this place. Will never pay salon prices again!
Great old-fashioned barbershop!. I was visiting New York from Virginia, and stopped by the Citylife Barbershop for a haircut and a shave. The barbers were excellent!! I got the best haircut I've had in years, and a terrific hot lather shave -- hot lather, hot towels, straight razor, the works! It was great -- just like I remember from my younger days. Anyone who enjoys the services of a great barber should stop by this shop and relax for a while. I hope they get lots of business, and I'll be stopping by every time I'm in New York.
Editorial Review. Barbers give old-fashioned shaves and haircuts while customers watch movies on 42-inch plasma TV with surround sound.
