Filene's Basement; Designer Clothes.
A walk through Filene’s Basement is like a walk down 5th Avenue because everywhere you look, you’ll see the same exclusive designer and prestigious store names you’d see in New York, Paris, London and Milan. But there’s one big difference–at the Basement, you’ll experience the thrill of their unbelievable prices.
One problem with Filene’s is that it is a MESS. The bargains are there, but you have to sort through a lot of junk to find them. I shop at Filene’s because of the styles and prices, but I always feel like I need a shower when I’m finished. Also, the staff’s complete unwillingness to help is very unsettling.
However, their buyers do shop for the best deals at the finest design houses in Europe, choosing the latest fashion trends, fabrics and colors for the sophisticated, price-savvy Basement customer.
You can shop for women, men, kids, and home with all the fine accessories to complete a wardrobe always at 30-60% off their original department & specialty store prices.
Pros: Cheap, Designer discounted, Shoes
Cons: Messy, Disorganized, Salespeople rude and unhelpful.
Great discounted store for fashion items.
I like to go to Filene's Basement from time to time to check out what they have in stock. They do change the brands they carry so it is worth checking out. I really recommend the winter accessories they have, women's jeans, tops, coats and stockings.
I am not too impressed with their jewelry or watches or their shoes selections though.
However, if you are looking for some nice trench coats, work suits or dresses, you might be surprised here.
