The Scene – There's a reason that the candlelit, brick-lined space is dominated by a giant, petrified wood bar: The friendly hosts Alexandra Degiorgio and Vito Polosa want you to enjoy their selection of Italian wines as much as they do. But they are happy to share their suggestions even if you choose to sit at one of the handful of wooden tables. Sunny yellow walls and sidewalk tables give the tiny front room a breezy feel; a walk through the subterranean kitchen reveals a second hidden room. – – The Food – The dishes emphasize light and nimble seasonal flavorings in…
Trendy Restaurant

I took a friend here for his birthday and had a lovely experience! We went on a Fri night so the place was busy. Atmosphere is trendy and charming without being pretentious or over done. The dim lighting and decor add a nice touch. Service was good but not great. I felt like they could have showed a bit more attention for the prices. But overall the food really was great! I highly recommend trying it for yourself :)
- Pros: food,
- Cons: service

Very intimate setting (read: very small!), but cozy and great decor. I went with my mom and boyfriend and we enjoyed the atomosphere, the really special wine list, and the food was delicious! I keep dreaming about the gnocci/lamb dish I had. Sooo good! I highly recommend this restaurant. Oh, and the prices are reasonable as well.
- Pros: Great atomosphere, wine and food
- Cons: A bit too small/tight

On our most recent trip to NYC my wife and i stopped in Aromas for a late lunch. It was a warm day and we had walked quite a few blocks so the water and the rose and white wines were very enjoyable. I had veal meatballs in a red suace that was excellent. The wife had artichoke parmesan which she continues to rave about. These were small dishes which was what we were looking for and really hot the spot. Rose the bar waitress was attentive and provided us with a couple of other dining establishment that we tried before the weekend was complete. We plan to return for the Sunday brunch on our next visit!
