44 1/2 used to be a great place, but recently I have become disturbed by my experiences with the restaurant. What once was a great place to get brunch is now a major disappointment. I can only expect that there is a serious lack of attention to detail (or other distractions) by the owners.

This is the way little NY restaurants should operate. The staff (in shirts that have cutsie, suggestive words) is friendly and professional without taking themselves too seriously. Although you may think you need to be a "creative" type to eat here, it is for everyone and the food is outstanding without being expensive. Can't say enough about this great Hell's Kitchen spot! Part of me wants to keep it a secret! Also, Nizza (down the street heading north) is similarly inexpensive with great food. Hell's Kitchen is getting hot!

Wanted to share a post-gallery cocktail and drink with a friend. The restaurant came highly recommended and with good cause. Immediate seating (7:30 p.m.), a perfect cocktail and really excellent food that actually came to the table hot. The service was friendly yet professional and the charming owner stopped by the table for a pleasant but brief chat. Great value for the money. Looking forward to trying it for weekend brunch.
