“The food is authentic indian home cooking and the service feels family run, attentive and friendly.”

“The service is entirely too slow, and I don't know if the A/C works up to par.”
Very dissapointed.. THE WORST INDIAN FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD. I was really hoping that Bombay Eats would be good considering we live so close, but was sadly dissapointed. After ordering online, we waited about 1 hour and 15 minutes for our food to arrive (keep in mind we live less than a block away). When it did arrive, our order was wrong, the dishes were getting cold and the food was TERRIBLE. The Dal Makhani tasted like someone dumped a can of low salt/fat lentil soup into a tupperware. No flavor, no spice. We ordered several items, everything but the milkshakes were awful. Living in midtown I expect more.....this was probably the worst food I've had in Manhattan. If you want decent Indian food GO TO BOMBAY PALACE INSTEAD!
Cozy Neigborhood Indian Restaraunt- Good Pre Theater Choice. This is a great neighborhood Indian restaurant!! The food was quite good- it was hard to stop eating even though we were already full!! The service was prompt and efficient. It is a good alternative for pre theater dining- not overly crowded and didn't need a reservation. We were able to get in and out in time for our show and enjoy a great, relaxing dinner at the same time. I would definitely recommend it to others!! The prices are quite reasonable.
Worst food ever in NYC.
This place is the worst place I have ever ordered from out of all the cuisines in Manhattan. The food was very below average and they took almost 2 hours to deliver and did not even admit that it took them that long. They made an excuse of having a new employee at work for all the delay and did not even offer a discount.
NEVER EVER GO HERE. HUGH DISAPPOINTMENT. It takes a lot to happen for me to write a bad review.
Terrible Dine In Service - AMAZING AMAZING TO GO FOOD.
First off, let's just say, while the actual location has a "homely" decor and could use some improvements. It's not a location where'd I'd find myself going to have dinner. The service is entirely too slow, and I don't know if the A/C works up to par. With that being said, after being disappointed with the dine-in, and opting for the to go - VERY PLEASED. What they lack in service they certainly make up for in their food. Lunch portions are GREAT, and food taste is certainly a strong 8/10.
I mean no disrespect to the owner, just constructive criticism - improve the decor and dine-in service, but DON'T change the portions or the recipes. For $7.95 You get a fairly large nan, two vegetables, salad, rice, dal, raita, all in large proportions (can't say for the non-veg). Compared to the 5.95 at Minar or the 8.95 at Cafe Spice, I would say these guys are much better option for the money spent. I will certainly return as a customer, but only for delivery service.
unassuming place with fantastic food. This is a great little find. The food is authentic indian home cooking and the service feels family run, attentive and friendly.
Midtown Indian find is popular for cheap takeout, prix-fixe lunch specials and free local delivery..
In Short
Most customers take advantage of the combination take-out lunch deals and free all-day delivery. Those who choose the casual sit-down space can enjoy inexpensive prix-fixe lunches. The menu is comprised of both spicy standards and rarities including lamb, seafood and chicken dishes, vegetarian meals and traditional desserts.
